i dont know what it wil take for Rockets to bite, but i will trade anyone on Jazz's roster except DW and Jefferson for Yao! i think the risk is pretty minimal as anyone should recover from fracture....

After years of patience and a willingness to wait out injury upon injury with their franchise star, the Houston Rockets are engaged in trade discussions about center Yao Ming(notes) with several teams, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Some teams are considering re-signing Yao on a short-term deal with hopes of restoring him to playing health, while others see his contract as a cost-saving measure.

Once one of the dominant players in the NBA, Yao, 30, will miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his left ankle. There are serious questions about his ability to return to the NBA on a full-time basis.

The Rockets are dangling Yao to acquire a good young player with an upside, if not an established talent. Despite offering Yao in trades, the Rockets haven’t ruled out the possibility of re-signing him to a short-term contract extension.

If Yao has surgery to repair the stress fracture, it would keep him out 10 months. After missing just two regular season games in his first three NBA seasons, Yao has missed at least 25 games in five of the past six seasons. He’s played just five games the past two seasons. From a broken leg to stress fractures in his feet, Yao’s lower extremities have struggled to support his 7-foot-6 frame.

Again, you are clearly not a Jazzfan.

It's like restoring an old '79 Cougar with questionable auto parts obtained from Guido that lives next to the city dump. It's just gonna break again if you can even get it started in the first place.

OP is slowly becoming my favorite poster of all time.

I think the OH PEE is a new account from the infamous DWAYNE_AVAIL who terrorized this very site not two months ago with his asinine trade recommendations.

This guy is done, and we need to stay away.

A small part of me would like to see one billion new Jazz fans though.

Are robotic prosthetic legs allowed in the NBA?

I think I'd do Battier and Ming for AK and Okur just so we could get out of Okur's contract. Okay, maybe I wouldn't but I hate Okur's contract.

After seeing how understanding and patient Jazz fans were with Carlos Boozer playing in 72% of the total amount of games during his 6-year tenure in Utah, I fully understand why Jazz fans would want Yao - who's played in 64% of the games during the same time span, not counting just 5 games out of the 82 game season this year.

It's sad as far as Yao goes though. I don't feel bad about the millions he has made. Just know that he wants to be out there on the court and it seems his legs can't support his body. Much like Oden.

My question is "At what price is Yao worth it from merley a marketing standpoint. I was in Houstan for game 7 a few years back and the amount of Asian press/yao jerseys on Asian kids makes me think he may be worth millions to any team willing to pay him.

Wouldn't happen here in Utah. Are you forgetting what state we're talking about? I'm sure there would be outrage by some fans with having an Asian on the Utah Jazz.
The only Asians Utahns like are girls for the momos and Asian fetish white boys.

Yeah, I can just imagine the massive outrage it would cause! Massive!

I'd rather have Luis Scola. He would double our rebound production. He actually boxes out and jumps for rebounds. Crazy ****, I know. I don't think Millsap and Jefferson have ever done that before.

I would love to see a trade for John Connor. We could have him travel back into time to kill chochem's pregnant mother. That way, we would never have to read his stupid trade ideas...

Good thought. However, I'm under the impression that jersey sales outside the arena all go to profit sharing. Jazz have already made the exact same amount of money on Chinese Yao jersey purchases that the Rockets have.

Yao has $8 million covered by insurance. His true cost is about $10mm. Saving money is the only reason anyone will be interested in calling Houston.
