Let's tank right this time trade proposal

Elfird Payton would be the one kind of PG I would not want to pair next to Exum. I'm probably the most pro "Get another starting PG" person on the board, but it has to be someone who has some floor spacing ability. Payton is a complete 0 as a shooter, but I do like him a lot.

Thread is about tanking right not building champion contender around Exum. If what you say is not in left field Elfrid should be top priority target.

Is this serious question? You do realize The Cleveland got Kevin Love for Wiggins yes?

Yep, yet Cleveland had more wins than the Jazz did and got lucky in the lottery. So what's your point?

If only Trey could defend. He would be perfect to pair with Exum.

Orlando gave up an additional first round pick just to move one spot up to get Payton. Somehow I don't see them trading him, especially after the good start Payton has had this season. Trey will definitely not be enough. And one more pick won't do it either.

So you are saying we should have won more games, got the 9th seed in the draft lottery, won the lottery and drafted Wiggins. That is truly ponderous.

Trey for Elfrid Payton.

Include Booker somehow he is too good bench. Give them a pick idk just make sure to tank right.

Lobotomize the Magic front office and they might make that deal.

What is your solution then? Standing pat worked so well with Jefferson Millsap Kanter and entire last season right? Being conservative win stockton Malone and Sloan so many rings too right?

How many years more will fans tell them to stay pat do nothing and be patient so we can experience failure for a few more years like vermin keeps begging for?

We stood pat last season? I remember DL trading up in the draft to grab Trey and then buying a pick to get Gobert. Also remember DL freeing up cap space (by NOT re-signing the vets) so he could trade for RJ, Rush and Biedrins and acquire extra picks. Last summer he traded some scrubs for Felix and a 2nd rounder. Signed Booker, traded for Novak. Guess we should have also traded Kanter and Burks for 2nd rounders last season like Philly did with Hawes. It was rumored both Jefferson and Marvin were up for trade at last year's deadline. Why did no deals happen? Perhaps teams needed to give back junk contracts that had an extra couple of years left along with a pick. Not worth it, IMO. DL could probably buy a 2nd and maybe even a late 1st, just as he did to get Gobert and then to grab Neto.

Now not all those moves worked out. I know, DL made absolutely ZERO effort to sign Lebron or Carmelo. FIRE HIM! But DL has done much more than standing pat. Standing pat would have entailed re-signing Millsap, Carroll, Foye and then drafting to replace Mo Williams. Would Utah have been better? Undoubtedly. We would have been fighting for the 8th seed last season and again this year. Likely drafted Hood with our pick if we had made the playoffs, or someone like Warren hd we barely missed like Phoenix did (and no GS pick because that $ was used to resign Millsap, etc.). And then another pick next summer around 18th (if the Jazz make the playoffs). But how far does that team ever go?
