    2025 Free Agency Thread

It's bad for the league to have teams that are in semi-permanent purgatory, I think having max salaries mostly save franchises from themselves.

Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

If they don't want sexton on the roster, because he's going to take touches away from young guys, and also decided they still need the money to be expiring I really don't think it's that insane. Very reminiscent of bogey for ko.

Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

They don't want salary on the books that far out. Is that correct? Who knows.

Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

I don't think sexton is truly negative, but I'd guess we were only interested in taking back expiring deals to preserve cap for whatever reason. Additionally, he needed to be moved. We couldn't go into the season sitting him, and young guys have to play. I'd guess we could have taken on worse...

    Jazz Pushing For Jaylen Brown

If there's a second move loaded up and ready to go I wouldn't hate it, if we're just going to roll with Lauri + Jaylen and burn essentially two top 5 picks between this year and next year to do it, yuck.

It makes some sense to me if they're either trying to prevent someone trading up to 4 or entice someone to do so for 5. Of course, could easily just take fears too.

That's where I'm at. I'd be pretty shocked if we didn't end up with Bailey or Johnson or a haul to trade back.

Flagg, Harper, VJ and Tre are off the board.. who should we pick?

As long as it's not Kon.

Give me Ace 'bailing on the predraft process' Bailey.

Give me one of Tre, Bailey, and fears and I'll at least be able to delude myself into happiness!

I get the concern with Ace, but he has a skill set and measurement combo you're not usually going to get a shot at outside the top 5. Would be pretty bummed to take someone like Knueppel over him.

    2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Fanspo claims this works, IDK if value is quite right but looks close to me. If the Rockets wanted Sexton instead of Clarkson I think they could send one more of their non-premium (Reed) prospects our way. The more I think about this, the more I think we'd probably have to ship 21 or multiple...

    2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Is there something where Phoenix trades Durant, we get brooks or green + 10 and Smith and send out Kessler + Collins to phx? Salaries probably off, but maybe close. I don't think phx has the juice for Kessler + Lauri combined.

Who should we pick at #5?

If Ace is there at five I'm pretty sure you just shrug and run to the podium.

Has our future position gotten better, worse, or stayed the same since trading Rudy/Donovan?

Only way out is to get the guy. We were out of ways to get over the hump when we sold on Rudy and Donovan, but did not maximize the 2023 year well. If we can get some sort of premium asset from Lauri and hit big on our pick this year maybe this is still salvageable, otherwise think we're...

Game Thread NBA Draft Lottery - May 12, 2025

We're now tanking indefinitely. Gotta draft an all-star before we're out of this.

I personally wouldn't, but it just depends on tiers. Jazz have so much quantity and not enough quality that I don't think this is the direction I'd like the FO to go either.

I think if you're making a pro-Ace argument here, it's probably that he can justify having the ball in his hands more because he can make midrange jumpers in a way that Smith's #s don't really indicate he was likely to be able to do.
