The Leif "Tre is like SGA" thing is so ****ing weird. SGA is one of the ten best players in NBA history at drawing fouls, Tre hates contact.
Tyler Herro is definitely the best comparison.
I'm fairly lowish on Ace, but his terrible shooting form on like 20% of his shots seems pretty fixable and makes me think he'll be a better shooter in the NBA than he was in college.
I don't think people understand (because SGA wasn't that touted of a prospect before the NBA) how broken SGA's jumpshot was entering the league.

He had to come to a complete stop to shoot and shot flat footed.
This and people's concerns...
Haliburton's ball handling was very questionable for a PG and his shooting form was so bad that people were concerned he wasn't going to be a good shooter in the NBA. Those two combined with his ehh athleticism made him drop, but he was ranked around 7th or 8th on big boards.
Absolutely could be, but being the first comments compared to stuff like saying you're prioritizing athleticism or shooting or defense etc means it COULD give some information. It's not definitive at all, of course.
No ****, I constantly admit that feature X or Y may not actually be that valued by the Jazz despite the possible connection. Especially after Cody Williams was such a bust that the Jazz changed tons of their front office. But it feels more interesting than going "Ace is #3 on mock drafts based...
Yes, but the Jazz absolutely loving two guys (more than basically any other team in the league) who have no real shared traits other than being killer interviews (Keyonte and Cody) does suggest a through line.
But it's hard to know if this continues after firing half their scouting staff and...
Yeah, Tre is hard to rank because he's a great fit with what the Jazz did the last two years... But the AA comment about "we need tough and team first players" has made me question Tre and Ace's ranking with the Jazz now. Ace is not team first and Tre is kind of soft so it may suggest AA is...
I mean, the Jazz passed on Cam Whitmore twice and GG Jackson three times to draft guards with minimal physical tools in Keyonte and Brice.
To be clear, the Jazz don't ONLY care about interviews as they drafted Filipowski and Collier (who both are terrible interviews), but the through line of...
Thinking about how the Jazz were planning to pick Edey last year if Cody Williams was taken by the Grizzlies. Edey was a 0 star recruit which is not Ainge's style at all, but Edey is an elite interviewer which is Ainge's style.
Really lean toward the Jazz having Ace 7th on their board. He's...
It's an ehh deal that would be pretty bad if Franz had gotten his supermax, but Franz getting injured last year was a huge break for the Magic and saved them $8m per year on Franz's deal, so their not ideal contract for Suggs is made up for by Franz's great contract.
Suggs' contract is fine if...
I'm using offensive win shares because 0.0 is basically a Mendoza line. OWS aren't the best stat and neither is batting average, but you're below 0.0 or below .200, you're probably pretty bad except in extraordinary circumstances.
Suggs' TS+ in his career

104 (his one good year)

Suggs has had one good season in the NBA. He's easily the most overrated player in the entire league.
A guard with negative offensive win shares 3 out of 4 years and tons of injury issues for a fringe all-star (though one with tons of injury issues too)?
