Damn, if we could snag AJ, Peterson, or Boozer. And do it while keeping Lauri. AJ/Peterson/Boozer + Ace + Lauri + the best ones of our current young players + veterans we could get with our solid draft assets. We could be a powerhouse in 3-4 years, maybe even sooner.

One thing I’ve noticed about Clayton is his ability to often “see” what his opponents are going to do, or what his teammates could do, before they do it. That puts him in the right places on the court on both ends. He reads the game well.

Sure, the point guard position is going to be one of the storylines this season. We have to let Key, Collier, and Clayton compete for it. For me, Key still has to show he can process the game like a point guard, Collier still has to show he can shoot, and Clayton is just starting at the NBA...

Yeah, but I don't believe the negotiations are completely over. But if they are, and they had serious negotiations, they must’ve been far apart with no resolution in sight.

These negotiations often take time. Kessler’s agent is pushing the price up, as he should, to see how high he can go. Eventually, they’ll reach a deal. I say this because I'm pretty sure AA wants to sign him to a long-term contract.

Good debate, guys. My guess is the main issue here is simply his value, i.e., his projected value as a player in the coming years. How much to pay for an offensively limited center? We’ll see if both sides compromise before the season kicks off.

I do think AA wants to sign Kessler. He just doesn’t want to give him too much. Maybe they’ll end up going around 25 per year, as you said.

I’d offer a $22 million per year kind of deal, and if he won’t accept, then trade him.

Yes, Jarrett Allen might be comparable, but he's an efficient shooter from close range. I’m one of those here who think Kessler is just too one-dimensional to be on a modern championship team. Obviously, if he greatly develops his shooting, it’s a different story, but I don’t think it’ll ever be...
