... if, by "click right along", you mean one total Dallas field goal in the last 3:50 of the third quarter (after CJ came in), the Jazz managing to close the rest of the gap to end Q3 with a tie, and the Jazz being behind by only two points when Hayward came back in for CJ at the 5:18 mark in...
The Terry vs. Harris argument is apples vs. oranges.
Carlisle didn't have alternatives (except an unseasoned Beaubois) who had proven to be clutch previously, and Terry (unlike Harris) has proven time and again that he can make the clutch shot. I'd probably put back in a clutch 1-for-12 vet...
Tough calling someone a "deer" who shoots >52% from close and 100% from dunks (as of 1/18) ...

(He missed a maximum of two "deer" shots tonight)
... except that you posted that "He is like a Deer in headlights under the rim, yet he is as big as everyone else on the court." as if it were your opinion--or most likely interpretable as such.
That's exactly why the "conventional wisdom" (advanced by Phil Johnson and imitated by Ty tonight) of putting the starters back in (no matter how well or poorly they have done) is flawed if the starters aren't the best combination on a given night.
C'mon, Cyrone; you're better than that. Kanter was showing inexperience; the effort was there, and the talent is there. He hit two free throws. He pulled down almost as many RBs in 13 minutes as AJ did in more than twice as much time. He was slightly anxious on that goaltend, and he needs...
Yes, it looked good for the first 30 seconds.
Then it looked not good for the remaining 2 and a half mintues.
And at the point of time at which the decision was made, there was no basis for putting Harris in, except the flawed traditional thinking of the Sloan era that Corbin foolishly...
There was no basis to put him in at that time; he had made zero FGs, and besides that "huge steal and assist", he did nothing. That "huge ... assist" was one of his only two assists for the entire game. In nearly 24 minutes. And a 3-point shot wouldn't have been necessary to win the game...
Phil Johnson, on the radio postgame, exposed the same suboptimal thinking that plagued the Sloan regime for years. Johnson said that coaches tend to go with the starters. But if the starters aren't the best choice, you don't use them. In this case, harris was definitely not the best choice...
Corbin has been wise to spread the minutes out among the players at all positions but PG.
Tinsley should be worked into the rotation, and Harris needs a smaller role.
Hayward's presence on the court was not helping the offense.
Yeah, Harris was bricking more than Hayward.
Miles was defending poorly on Marion, but at least he was scoring.
I'm not a fan of offense compensating for poor defense, but Hayward was not scoring.
He is a shoot-first point guard he doesn't even try to run the offense.
And Corbin needs to insist on running the offense--or at least some pick-and-rolls.
CJ has forgotten to play defense? CJ was doing better than Hayward.
By half, a coach should have an idea what's gonna work.
What's working in this game is Watson-Burks-Miles-Millsap-Jefferson. Tinsley would probably work, too. Sprinkle in Favors and Kanter as needed.
.500 ball the rest of the year? Might be harsh; might not be.
Would rather the jazz be underrated and overdeliver.
We've got him right where we want him ;).
It wasn't that hard of a transition.
Biggest step was that he had to decide to try--something Boozer never did on a regular basis.
Kudos to the coaching staff (or AJ himself) for lighting a fire under Big Al's big azz.
A small amount of credit goes to Favors and Underkanter for unwittingly...
While Corbin deserves criticism for the first 2 or 3 games or so,
he deserves huge props since then for figuring things out
--cutting Bell's minutes until he started producing
--starting to give Burks, Favors, and Kanter some time regularly
--insisting on defense --> even Jefferson and CJ...
