I agree. That's why I'd typically prefer Favors and Jefferson starting, with Millsap coming in at around the 6-minute mark. Or the opposite--sit AJ or PM in mid-Q1, and bring in Favors, and then bring back the sitting starter early in Q2. Depends in part on the matchups.

    Boo Jerry Sloan

I like Sloan--kind of like I like Memo. I'd trade my drudgerous career for theirs. Their respective coaching and interior-defense performances, however, are something different. Deron should be applauded for accelerating the long-delayed departure of a coach who helped to put (and keep) the...

    From John Hollinger ESPN

This notion is supported by Millsap being reinserted in the starting lineup--even though Jefferson + Favors and Millsap + Kanter would make for more balanced lineups. To parapharase President B.O., yes he can. True, but I just look to the idea that the youth movement would be stalled more if...

Jerry Sloans to the wizards or nets?

I don't see any of this happening. It's very conceivable that Sloan quit on his own accord. If anything, the Jazz organization probably begged him to stay, because they knew that the transition--especially an unexpected one--would be painful. And as last year attests, it was painful. Yes...

Of course Okur deserves an ovation. His trade away from the Jazz has probably already garnered Utah a one or two of their wins, not to mention ones to come in the future thanks to Okur's previous PT going to Favors, Kanter, and others.

Should the Jazz start Josh Howard against the Lakers?

. . . except that a successful lineup against one team (or five of them--at the ESA--for that matter) does not necessarily work against another. Your post sounds like the damaging, lazy strategy that Sloan implemented for years. When Ol' Jer had Stockton and Malone (and no options better...

Sloan is reconsidering returning to NBA

Except that the Bulls already have a coach that not only preaches defense, but actually enforces it.

Chances are that it will. It's common sense. It's Coaching 101.

    I really like Ty Corbin

How refreshing that Corbin--in less than one entire season as head coach--is possibly embracing the concept of merit-based playing time that Ol' Jer underutilized for years. Also, after a peak of 28 minutes vs. Milwaukee, Burks' minutes have come down x2. Meanwhile, Raja's minutes rose in...

I believe that Corbin is eating crow--for thinking that playing Bell (and CJ) for 20+ minutes when they weren't producing (and thus didn't merit it) is good coaching. Since then, it appears that such crow has been dislodged. Kudos, Corbin. If Bell starts ringing again, ring up his minutes a bit.
