Are the Jazz going to trade Rudy?

Both sides are negotiating. That shows intent by both parties to hammer out a deal. If Rudy just wanted to leave, he'd say, "I'm leaving." If the Jazz didn't want to extend Rudy, they'd say, "We're not interested in offering an extension." I seriously doubt Rudy will get more money on the...

Rayjon Traded to Cleveland for $$$

I think Rudy will ultimately sign for Jimmy Butler money (4 yrs/$140M), which should be plenty btw. If Rudy wanted out of Utah, his side wouldn't be negotiating like this. I think Rudy wants to stay and get paid. The main risk with free agents in this scenario is that they want to leave and they...

Jazz select Udoka Azubuike with pick 27 & trade Tony Bradley + pick 38 to the Pistons

I'm optimistic about Elijah Hughes too, btw. I think he can be a rotation player before the end of the season.

Rayjon Traded to Cleveland for $$$

The Jazz weren't keeping Rayjon. They don't have a roster spot for him. So they cleared him off their books. The end.

Utah Jazz will play Dec 12th v. Phoenix at Vivint Arena !!!

It'll be an empty arena with no fans during pre-season.

Rayjon Traded to Cleveland for $$$

Jazz are wiggling to get under the luxury tax this year, or give themselves a bit of flexibility to avoid being hard-capped.

Rayjon Traded to Cleveland for $$$

Cavs fans think the Cavs are going to waive Tucker and this simply amounts to a small financial move, a favor among friends kind of thing. Cavs will pay Rayjon's $340k guarantee and send the Jazz $110k if I'm reading this right. So Jazz are selling a 2nd-round pick for $450k. Ka-ching!

Rayjon Traded to Cleveland for $$$

I doubt this deal signifies much, other than that the Jazz weren't going to keep Tucker, and they did him a solid by sending him to the Cavs. Maybe the Jazz want just a wee bit of wiggle room to offer slightly more than the vet minimum to a player.

You mean Josh Hart and Derrick White? Ehh, I don't think they change the Jazz's outlook.

Tony is an NBA rotational player. He just isn't strong enough defensively to anchor a team's defense. He was a #28 pick. I wouldn't worry about it.

Jazz have been getting trade calls on Gobert for the past 6 months. They know what's out there. Also, if the rumor that the Jazz called Atlanta about the #6 pick is true, then that's almost certainly an invitation to discuss a Gobert trade. Jazz are going to consider all their options.

In terms of player equity, getting Favors back in FA is easily worth the 2nds the Jazz gave up to move Bradley.

Jimmy Butler is on a 4-year / $140M deal with Miami. That feels about right for Rudy, imo. Or at least, I think he should be willing to do that. That's $35M/year.

I know the Jazz have a pile-up of backup PFs, but I bet they could get something out of Skal Labissiere if they wanted to take him on as an inexpensive reclamation project. I'd prefer GRIII though.

    Guys you were wrong about

I thought Derrick Williams would be good. Instead he busted out of the league. I thought Archie Goodwin could have been good, but he never learned to shoot. I thought Mario Hezonja had at least as much natural talent as Gordon Hayward, but he can't dribble or pass, so he mostly just stands there.

If the Hawks did a deal like this, they'd want us to take Capella to get him off their roster. Atlanta likes Gobert, for sure, but they also just drafted Okongwu.

Jarrell Brantley Returns on 2-Way Deal

Brantley has 3 guys ahead of him in the PF rotation, if you count Derrick Favors' minutes at the 4: Favors/ Niang / Morgan / Brantley. That's why he's on a 2-way contract.
