Dumb Business Decision. Arguably face of Franchise. Fantastic Chemistry with Favors (TeamUSA, 3 years).
Now the whole year will be fielding trade rumors.
I do not think Hayward is a #1 option. I do think within the next 1-2 years he will be a solid #2 option.
Per Locke, Jazz offered him #4...
They will not match. Too cheap. As locke said (who was way to involved in this), if they decide they would match any offer, he would have been signed tonite.
Trade makes sense now.
No...Market sets rates. There are overpriced stocks all the time.
Hayward knows he will get more (even if statistically some may question). Good for him and his confidence. We have grown him in 3 years, he is on a nice projectile and now he WILL be gone.
Someone WIL OVERPAY(agreed) and...
That will not hurt Hayward. Actually may help.
As a #1/#2 option his shooting was going to be way down. That would hurt him
This is going to be a HUGE distraction.
Expect a trade.
Expect the curse of Gtime to knock the Jazz out of the playoffs multiple times with buzzer 3's
Favors is an introvert who had chemistry with Hayward.
He will not be as comfortable in Utah without him.
Chemistry, in all workplaces, is what makes success.
Locke tweeted 10-15 minutes ago....
Convergence of team desires, players wishes, agents perspective and agent reputation is hard to make match
David Locke @Lockedonsports 26m
Both sides still talking into final hour shows commitment from both sides but so many variables may make it too...
We will see how Hayward does in negotiating crunch time in a little over an hour.
Yahoo WoJo says they are still trying....
< 11 year - Jazz Win
> 11 year - Gtime wins
Hayward's Gould trouble really coat him tonite
His defense in the 4th was incredible
I think his contract has him messed up right now
I really hopebtheyvagree to terms today
