Jazz not using Marvin correctly. One of ESPNs top 8 Buy low players
Marvin Williams, Utah Jazz
A change of scenery figured to work well for this Williams, also a disappointing former No. 2 overall pick, but instead he's having arguably the worst season of his career in Utah. The Jazz have cast Williams as a spot-up shooter, and after making a career-high 38.9 percent beyond the arc in 2011-12, he's down to 34.7 percent -- closer to his career average from 3-point range (33.2 percent). Now Williams is barely creating any of his own offense, which explains why his usage rate and his per-minute scoring are both career lows. Utah's in the market for a point guard, and Williams could be part of the package, giving him an opportunity to put more of his skills to use.
I've said quite a few times that Marvin could be a valuable contributor...if used correctly. Trade Al and give Marvin 10 shots per game and you won't see a noticeable dropoff in the offense. Jazz offense would destroy the careers of Durant and LeBron if we had those players. May as well let KOC and Lindsey go. Doesn't matter who the Jazz bring in; the ball still goes in to Al for 10-15 seconds each possession and if he can't get a shot, then it's like a game of hot potato with a desperate heave at the bucket as time runs out.
As far as I'm concerned we brought Marvin here to play defense and hit open 3's. He's done 1/2.
It's time to move on. Corbin isn't going anywhere, so Marvin has got to go.

35% ain't bad on 3's. And his defense has been decent. The problem is his usage. He goes for days without seeing the ball. Just bring him off curls, throw him the ball occasionally. We're not talking AK here; Marvin can actually hit an open jump shot. I'm not saying Marvin is an all-star caliber player. But he could easily be a 14-pt/per player who also plays great defense. And that's exactly the kind of player needed at SF.

And there's the problem. NO SF will ever be successful in the Corbin/Jefferson offense. One of those two has got to go. The only thing that gives me some hope is that the Jazz were pretty good when Al was hurt. The ball movement was fantastic. So please. Mr. and Mrs. Kevin O'Lindsey, trade Al!

The problem with that, and the main reason I've lost interest in the current team, is that Corbin makes any potential acquisition pointless. He has no clue how to take advantages of a players strengths, or the opponents weaknesses. He has no idea how to run an effecient adaptable offense. He does not know how to react on the fly to in game situations. He just knows how to follow as a career-long seventh assistant coach, or whatever job he held before his Forrest Gump moment.

Can he drive and create his own offense, or is he still forced to "play within the offense" at all costs? Do we still feed the ball to AJ every time down the court then take a nap?
Regardless of who the Jazz get, Corbin can't get it done. He probably couldn't make it to the second round with the Miami Heat. So why would it matter if Marvin goes or stays? Might as well misuse the players you have, than take the time to learn how to best misuse any acquired assets.

It isn't Corbin's fault Marvin sucks. You guys are high if you think Marvin is being held back by Corbin. Atlanta traded him to us for a reason. Their fans wanted him gone for a reason.
But guys. I thought the Jazz and their vaunted system/offense/other players were going to make Marvin Wililams so much better.
Mark Cuban is a ****ing sociopath.
Atlanta fans wanted him gone for much the same reason we wanted AK gone: he wasn't worth his salary. A #2 pick is supposed to turn into an all-star, just like a MAX player is supposed to be one of the top players in the NBA. Marvin is not a #1 option. But he can be a nice complementary piece. Trade him to SA and you'd see how good of a player he really is. Pop knows how to utilize his players; Corbin does not.

Go for second chance points you are 6-9, play closer to the paint, if your shots not falling make cuts, change your spot for open looks. Big Al oriented offense is not an excuse. He is just invisible on the floor and i can't see that he is trying or doing something abot it.

Same with Burks though he's got it harder because he has to play a position where he isn't supposed to be on all the time and a position where he is supposed to be on all the time.

Anyways, that's just a theory. It could be that the coaching and managing of the Jazz sucks really bad and then we're all screwed and life sucks and Corbins a hack and the city will move and Windows 8 sucks.
Do we got swindled for Devin Harris.
i said it a lot of times.

And some of it is Marvin just being human, wanting to live off his 8 million dollars he makes every year so he can tat his body up, do whatever in his downtime and still be guaranteed 30 minutes a night regardless of his performance.
