Ante Tomic/ Real Madrid

I attended the Maccabi Tel Aviv v. Real Madrid in Israel last week. Tomic was easily the tallest person on the court, but sadly looked lost and both ends of the court. Maccabi's undersized (6'8") and overweight (345lbs.) center, Sofoklis Schortsanitis, scored on Tomic at will, using a low center of gravity, his large butt, and soft touch to get position, space, and score. Tomic looked like he added muscle, especially in the shoulders, but he doesn't appear to be a shot blocker or rebounder by any means. He a nice put back dunk but no post moves to speak of and mostly stood in bad spots on offense. Sadly, he looks like he is probably two years away. Maccabi and Real Madrid are two very high level Euro clubs especially with all the NBA guys on each roster, which is great in terms of gaining experience, but it also showed his rawness.

I feel for Tomic. Really short (compared to him) really fat people are a complete pain in the *** to guard, especially if they are skilled.

Not complaining about the thread, but the dude hasn't really gotten any better since we drafted him...just saying.

Wait, when we drafted him he was in some lesser Euroleague, now he is one of the better players on his team in the top Euroleague. Not improving?

We will never see Tomic in a Jazz uni. That is the plain and simple truth.

I don't watch him all the time but I'm sure he has improved since he is a young player, but he still doesn't look anything like an NBA player. That's all I'm trying to say.

Agreed, it's still fun to keep up with him.

I think Tomic generally suffers from what most euro's do - a combinaiton of softness and wanting to play offense only. He could be a good bench player, but the asking price might be to high to lure him over.

Just as a part of trade, like ante tomic for a early second round pick or in a larger package, thats the most we can get out of him. I dont think he can play in any nba team

Just don't let other teams scout him or there's no chance for a trade
