What's new

Coronavirus

I'm more than a little surprised that nobody has jumped on Trump's corona press conference yesterday. Not sure how many here watched any of it but he looked like a whipped puppy. Admitted that it is going to get much worse before it gets better and even recommended using face masks. He simply wasn't his usual self. I'm almost convinced he will drop out of the POTUS race.

He knows the poll numbers are dire. Just give him a few days and he'll say something off the cuff about things getting better and that masks won't help. He's already been shown not wearing masks in a fundraising event last night so the words are ultimately meaningless.

Deaths over 1,000 again for the second straight day. Weird. It’s almost like more cases lead to more hospitalizations and more deaths.

Remember how Donald was bragging how the death chart during his interview with chris Wallace on Sunday? Haha good times

We all know trump is a **** show. But today’s media actually looked worse. Who was the dumbass who asked him about the FBI building? Like huh? How is that a priority right now? Especially after he just cancelled his convention over virus fears but still for some reason thinks we should herd kids together everyday for 6+ hours?

Also when is a journalist going to finally call his *** out about how testing less doesn’t help anything? My goodness.

Honestly, Trump looked better today than the media. That was a complete ******** by the press.

It's truly wild, not to mention sickening, to see the same crowd of people who cynically warned of Obamacare "death panels" killing our grandparents now openly make the case for sacrificing their lives to save the stock market.

Hey we now have actual death panels!

I Love how literally everything repubs bitched about for 8 years, is happening now under Trump.
Debt? Out of control
Economy? Wasted
Alliances? Ruined
Enemies? Emboldened
Manchurian candidate? Doesnt everyone know that trump is compromised?
Federal officers in black hawk helicopters and vans rounding up Americans? Happening right bow
Judicial activism and legislating through executive orders? Yep.
Death panels? Happening right now!

The acknowledgement is welcome news to patients who call themselves "long-haulers" — suffering from debilitating symptoms weeks and even months after their initial infection.

"This report is monumental for all of us who have been struggling with fear of the unknown, lack of recognition and many times, a lack of belief and proper care from medical professionals during our prolonged recovery from COVID-19," Kate Porter, who is on day 129 of her recovery, wrote in an email to NBC News.

Only 350 new cases reported yesterday. Granted it is the weekend but that is down from previous weekends. Just over half of one percent of Utah's confirmed cases have been fatal so far. Well below the national average.

The cases seem to have decreased a couple weeks after masks were mandated and stores were requiring them.

You don't even have to look at a chart. If Thriller hasn't been chirping, cases are down.

Here we go.

Doesn't bode well for professional (or amateur) sports in the near future.

This is the problem outside of a bubble. If a team can't play, they'd have to forfeit their games or postpone and when it happens multiple times, future scheduling and dates get decimated.

Basically, you either have to cancel/prolong/severely limit seasons or simply do nothing and play while exposed and sick. High school sports are going to be a mess.

This is bad enough - just try and figure out how the NFL is going to handle this problem. How the heck do you make up multiple postponed football games?

You can't - it's a domino effect. If three players with the Browns test positive for COVID and the whole team has been around them, 14 days of quarantine. That really means you're probably going three weeks without the Browns playing as they'd need a full week of game prep.

This fall will be an interesting case study if nothing else - another footnote in the strange but true year of 2020.

In Utah cases have started trending downward. Not back to shutdown levels yet, but going the right direction.

Obviously with strong support for facemasks and people realizing we weren't done with this yet we have been able to reduce the spread.

With vaccine trials going well we might get through this afterall!
