Our current political situation is becoming quite comparable to Mussolini's Italy of the 1930s. Of course political fascism has some extreme connotations. Organized street operation groups doing targeted, guided violence with positive media coverage. Intense hypercriticism of opposition groups. Government "Good", People "Bad, if they complain>" Every business that wants to stay in business doing everything it takes to get the Honcho smile from the Organizers/Elites.
The idea of people having a government they can influence is on the back burner.
