Siro's Case:
n/a
zbone's Case:
Offensive:
My team will be running a pick and roll heavy offense between a star PG (MC: 20.5 PTS, 6.3 AST IT: 28.9 PTS 5.9 AST) and front court (KAT: 25.1 PTS 12.3 TRB) forcing favourable switches on Anderson, Parker and Olynyk who all are defensive liabilities followed by easy layups or kick outs to perimeter where all my guys are capable of shooting high percentage from the 3pt or move the ball and open the court for cutting wings. At all times I will have at least 3 ball handlers on the court capable of creating their own offense and for the rest of the team. In addition to that I have athletic bigs who and cut and knock down midrange and long range shots with high percentage.
And as if versatile starters wasn’t enough, I have #5 in MVP’17 voting (right behind Siro’s Lebron who is #4) coming from the bench in Thomas who will have plenty of space to operate (see my team’s 3pt%) and Siro has no one to slow him down (dropped 41 on Lowry last season), let alone stop.
At any time I can go with a killer small line-up of Conley-Thomas-Ariza-JJ-KAT and there is nothing Siro’s team can do to stop them. Howard is a shell of him younger self and Lebron won’t be able to play both ends with high intensity all series.
When it comes down to finishing the games I have leadership, experience and clutch shot making abilities in Conley, IT, JJ and Ariza.
Defensive:
I have a totally capable on-ball defender in Conley, 1st NBA All Defense Team selection in Pat Beverley and 3 wings (Ariza, Mbah a Moute, Carrol) who can and will create serious problems for anyone in the league. Dieng is a prolific defender in my front court and able to help out KAT if needed, even though he is not a defensive liability (top quarter in defending postups, average in defending a pick and roll). At any moment I can throw 4 different great defenders at Lebron to give him different looks and throw him off.
Matchups:
KAT>Howard: Howard wll not be able to stop KAT neither on perimeter nor in the post and will not be able to defend the pick and roll (Howard was bottom quarter in the league defending p-n-r and KAT is in the top quarter as rolling man). KAT will hold his own on defense against Howard given current Howard’s condition.
Young=Anderson: It’s a wash between those two. One is better slightly offensively, another defensively.
Mbah a Moute <Lebron: Lebron is Lebron but as I said above it’s not going to be a walk in the park for him.
Ariza=Beal: What Beal may score against Ariza, which is not easy, he will give up the same. If not more on the other end.
Conley=Lowry: Both are good defensively. Lowry may be a better scorer but Conley is a better facilitator and makes his team better while managing to put the same production stats wise.
What makes the difference in my favor is:
- my bench is so much better than Siro’s;
- my team is much more flexible both offensively and defensively and;
- there is no one to help Lebron during close finishes.
KAT will be toying with Siro's team defense:
