14 minute Rudy Gay interview. Doesnt seem like the salty veteran everyone thinks he is.
I like my version of events/narrative, thank you very much.
Rudy Gay said he's on Ochai and WK's *** every day about getting better. Thinks they have a bright future.
Gay said this year he knew he was here to be a mentor.
Last year was different because he thought he was coming into put the Jazz over the hump.
Gay said if he was just here being a sourpuss, it wouldnt be good for his reputation. He's here to help Ochai get better.

Gay sounds like a pretty great vet from his interview. Not sure if he will be back next year, but if he isnt I dont think it has anything to do with his attitude/vibe. It will just be because he sucks.

Quin threw him under the bus last season and had people like Locke carry his water. So it's understandable that we all thought he was poison.
Kris Dunn very complimentary of Ochai.
Players seem to really like Walker cuz he's goofy.
Kris Dunn had a great interview too. Would be pretty shocked if he's not on the team next year.
The over $6M probably didn't hurt too.
He gets that regardless of how he acts

This fits with what I saw this year. I thought Rudy's body language was good all year. His play, not so much. I think he is kind of aloof in general, so he is a bit hard to read. Second half of last year was pretty bad. I think he was just kind of done with the drama last year, which I am sure is normal for a long time vet. I think there was a lot more going on last year than we will ever know. I do think he is genuine about being a mentor for WK and OA. I think its time for him to move on.

I was happy with his play the second half. Much more engaged this year.
His play at the beginning of the year was turrible, he evolved, played more on the block and at the elbow and took less threes, is mid range game got on point and defended a lot better

Love how Hardy made him play point the last few games. Was good for his development I felt.
@Tony Jones said, and I want to make sure I quote this right..., that Rudy Gay was "motha ****ing" the Jazz last season. Maybe it's water under the bridge now, and obviously there were a lot of things going wrong last year.
Walker said he is going to focus on improving his athleticism and FT's.
Walker stopped short of saying he has no ceiling, but that is basically what he said.
