Is the date that contracts become guaranteed. According to the Trib, Garrett, Clark and Harris are all on non-guaranteed rides. Who, if any, is asked to leave the island? I will start the game off by saying I think all 3 will be given their walking papers. My rationale for this is that none are in the Jazz future. Clark only put up so-so numbers when he went to the DLeague. They were sort of Kevin Murphyesque. Garrett is interesting as he brings nice length but his shooting percentage is pretty bad and he has been doing viscous pine. Harris I'm sure is a fine human being but is better suited to the league in China or Korea. Also I think the bean counters in the Jazz front office realize it will be cheaper to send these guys on their way and sign some guys to 10 day contracts from the DLeague and see if any of them develop. Anyway that's my $.02

I think Ian Clark is better than JL3. But what do I know. There must be something the FO sees in JL3 that nobody else does.

Cut JL3 and Harris.

Keep Clark and Garrett.

JL3 is guaranteed. I doubt they eat that. Garrett riding the bench and JL3 playing is not a good sign for Garrett.

If we are bringing in Sam Cassell let's not forget Bobby Sura and Charlie Ward who were his college teammates.

I like where you are going with this. Go Noles!

I think Harris may be going bye bye. Need to open a spot for another prospect. Surprised no one gives Brian Butch a shot. He is really hitting the 3s this year.

He was in the 2012 training camp and on Alex Jensen's summer league team in Vegas and I think the front office views him as a no hoper.

Right now I would let Clark and Harris go. Garrett does some good things and I would rather have him on the court than JL3.

The other consideration is roster space. I have no doubt Jefferson and Williams will be shopped. It's unlikely a trade happens, but if one does, the Jazz probably take on more players in return given the salaries of Marvin and Richard: 2-1 or even 3-1. Jazz need roster spots in order for that to happen. I predict the Jazz will reduce their roster to 13 and sign players to 10-day contracts if needed.

I think they would keep JL3 over Ian not only because he is a veteran but also because of the shooting %. The team obviously needs the spacing good shooters would bring to them, and even though how terrible Lucas can get beyond the arc, Ian hasn't promised more than what Lucas already has to offer. Clark's shooting style will always be a problem for him in the NBA level. He is a religious dude alright, but apparently that is not a function to keep you in SLC.

And for Garrett, I would love to see him kept. Shooting can be fixed. He is a good offense runner as for his ability to keep the pace of the game up. Watching Harris go, I wouldn't mind.

Plus JL3 has a guaranteed contract and it is still a business.
