SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Jazzman Derrick Favors agreed to return to Utah on a three-year deal, according to The Athletic.

NBA free agency officially began at 4 p.m. (MDT) on Friday, November 20.

About 90 minutes later, it was reported that Favors would be re-joining the Jazz.

After playing the half of his rookie season with the New Jersey Nets, Favors came to the Jazz during a trade in the 2010-11 season.

The big man would go on to play the following eight-plus seasons with Utah.


After the 2018-19 season, the Jazz traded Favors to the New Orleans Pelicans.

During nine seasons with Utah, Favors averaged 12.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. He played in 576 games as a member of the Jazz, including 413 starts.

The center owns career averages of 11.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.3 blocks per contest.

Favors joined the re-signing of Jordan Clarkson as Utah’s first two moves in free agency.
