SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It wouldn’t be a proper preseason if Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert didn’t fire off at least one jump shot in-game.

Gobert made good on that promise firing off a 16-footer in the first quarter against the Milwaukee Bucks.

With 52 seconds left in the quarter, Gobert caught the ball just above the free-throw line, turned, and fired with zero hesitation.

Gobert has long joked about having more range on his jump shot than he shows in games, but after leading the NBA in dunks on an annual basis, the Jazz have little need for the All-Star center to step away from the rim.

But perhaps Gobert’s pretty jump shot shouldn’t come as a surprise. After all, during training camp in Las Vegas, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year was regularly seen participating in three-point shooting contests with backup center Hassan Whiteside and Jazz part-owner Dwyane Wade.

After Gobert sunk the deep jump shot, his Jazz teammates jumped up to celebrate his newfound range.

A warning to Jazz fans, however. You should enjoy Gobert’s experimental offensive game while it lasts, with the regular season starting next Wednesday at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the big man will likely be pushed back down towards the rim for highlight-reel alley-oop dunks.
