SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jerry Sloan passed away at the age of 78 on Friday after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Immediately after Sloan’s passing was announced by the Utah Jazz organization, the tributes started to roll in for the legendary head coach.

The Utah Jazz social media team created a logo to honor Coach Sloan’s passing and it captured coach perfectly. The logo featured a John Deere hat with his career win total of 1,223 victories.

More times than not in any post-practice media availability, Coach Sloan was wearing a John Deere hat. Sloan collected John Deere tractors and had over 70-plus tractors in his personal collection.

Sloan was the head coach of the Utah Jazz from 1988-2011 and finished fourth in NBA history for most wins as a head coach in a career.

Watch KSL 5 TV tonight at 10 pm for a special tribute to the life of Utah Jazz legend Jerry Sloan.
