It’s time for some Udoka up in here

It’s day 2 of Salt Lake City Summer League and day 2 is shaping up to be a lot of fun!

The Jazz Blue team doesn’t have as many notable players as the Jazz White team, but there was a nice performance from Joe Chealy who showed some real skill scoring the ball against the Grizzlies better unit.

Justin Patton also looked good for Jazz Blue rebounding the ball and doing a solid job protecting the rim. It isn’t likely to lead to a contract with the Jazz but Patton definitely has the talent to make a roster in the league.

Desmond Bane looked great for the Grizzlies in Day 1 and it will be interesting to see how he does against the Jazz White team with the better prospects.

In Game 1 Udoka Azubuike put up 8 points, 14 rebounds and protected the rim nicely.

Can Azubuike put up big numbers against Xavier Tillman who played regular rotation minutes last season?

The player of the game for Utah was definitely Trent Forrest who had a fantastic night.

Forrest grew in confidence as the year went on last year and looks like he’s taken that momentum and is getting even better. With the ball in his hands nice things happened, especially running the PnR with Azubuike. Multiple times they connected for buckets that could be possible this upcoming season.

Forrest even hit a couple corner threes, but that’s not necessary for him to have a great impact on the floor. Forrest sets his teammates up nicely and also defends on the other end. There’s no doubt Forrest has a big night tonight, the question is, how often is the ball going to be in his hands? If the Jazz let him run the show, it’s easy to see him succeeding in a big way.
