Rudy Gobert so overrated - no offensive game and gets way too much credit for his defense

Mitchell is gonna go off against us huh

waiting for Rubio and Ingles to go stupidly ballistic against us like they usually do

Jazz getting ****ed by the refs lmao

These refs have apparently never heard of moving screens. Utah is using tons of them.

Wow how often does Rubio make that 3

Rudy Gobert destroying LA so painful to watch

He’s making the west coaches pay for not selecting him to the all star game. Bad for us.

I thought LMA ate Goberts lunch last year….
    Where is that now?

Mitchell takes on a stiff old Gasol. Mitchell wins.

That last play is why I would never play Pau Gasol in a game. He was very late getting back on defense. He was running as fast as he could, but he just can’t run that fast anymore.

We are currently playing death by open three… not exactly a cogent defensive strategy and Demar appears to be on his way out of San Antonio. It seriously wouldn’t surprise me if he requested a trade in the off-season. Like Kompan said above, Demar proved what he has to prove in the Toronto game and that’s all that appears to be the end of his care for this season.

How many times has Utah ran that thing where Rudy gobert Trails down the key and they throw it to him? I guess we had no answer for it

The defense is putrid. Simply putrid. The stench of it wafted all across the western United States the past week.

We can’t be contenders without a superstar. Two All stars and below average role players can’t cut it.

Gobert is pissed lmao no way he doesn't get thrown out this game

Guys we understand its Jae ****ing Crowder but stop letting that man shoot

Bertans has been the only guy consistently playing above his paycheck.

We're just giving Royce O'neal open threes now?

God ****ing damnit lol I don't understand our team at all they look ****ing lost out there first time I've seen this in Spurs history

Jazz have been attacking DeMar in the last 4 out of 5 possessions.

Demar move your feet on defense dude

This team messes with my heart a little bit too much

    Can’t score, can’t rebound, can’t defend...

Wow that was beautiful ball movement from Utah.

    Pitiful. I'm out of here.

Wonder how good the Jazz would be doing if they were missing Rubio, Mitchell and Favors bc of injury?

    That's our situation rn...

I wish the Spurs had the cap space to sign Rubio this offseason. He'd be the perfect fit for leading our bench. Would also allow Derrick to start with Dejounte.

As a Spurs supporter and Virginia supporter I want to jump off my ****ing balcony today

**** I want to smash somethingagainst the wall. But why the **** are we fans so dedicated and so loyal? **** this **** we dont deserve this kind of performance

One of the biggest problems we Spurs fans have is not being accustomed to such poor defensive play. And most certainly this much losing. I have been following the Spurs for 14 years and can say first hand that I have not seen anything like this before. In these 14 years SA was always in striking distance of a championship…every year! So what do we do long term? Well we have a lot of guys out with injury and of course this is a big contributor and something fixable, but we also have some nice 1st round picks next season and i suspect PATFO will pick up some pieces that will fill in the deficiencies we currently have. In the meantime, it will continue to be painful but we still are Spurs fans and have sure been spoiled over the years. I know, my comments are 30k feet but it helps me look at the big picture and appreciate what we have had and lets me look forward to what will come.

OMG, they’re back. Like zombies. Gloom and doom. This team is imperfect; we knew that. In fact, every Spurs team in the Robinson/Duncan era was also imperfect. It’s a miracle we won five championships. If it wasn’t for Pop, and the players on those teams, we wouldn’t have done it. Let’s dump LMA, DD, and everyone else responsible for this travesty. We can start fresh, and be at the top again, in no time at all…

bouta make this 4 L's in a row

Jazz should give name back to New Orleans. They should call themselves the Utah Bears, Elk, or Gulls

    Disappointed but not surprised.

You never know your in the good ole times until they are gone

    Vaseline time

The team died when Tim left.

This team has no love for the shirt. they are disgusting.

But Patty and Joe jawing at each other is pretty fun

Says alot about this team when we cant seem to beat playoff teams. This will be 4 straight losses against playoff teams.

My aspiration this season is to make Play Offs, play four games and go fishing. We can’t do anymore with this team. Pop knows. What’s the plan boys?

    Trade everyone

Playing against us is easier than playing against scrimmage teams... we literally give practice-like shots to these opposing players. Its not a coincidence random players shoot light outs from 3 and all that against us. Shoulda/woulda/coulda on the trade deadline

    we cant ****ing stop anyone

    Couldn’t stop a nose bleed

Worse defense I’ve see in 20+ years from this team. Absolutely pitiful.

This losing **** is getting annoying.

This defense is a complete joke. That was some pathetic crap. I think they scored damn near on every single possession. I've never seen that before.

Every single time down the court, if they miss a shot, they get the rebound or the foul, like every time. I get that Rudy's and Derrick are missing, I'm not expecting wins, but I'm expected some competency on defense.

Great defense will at least allow you to compete. If I got a nickel for every time Ricky Rubio just glided down the middle of the paint and shot an open jump shot bunny or a simple lob to Gobert, I'd be a wealthy man.

It's funny how everyone involved with the Jazz, including fans and management, want to get rid of Rubio but when we read these comments after the games, fans of the opposing team all wish they could have him.

    1st post: Rudy is overrated.
6 posts later: Rudy is destroying LMA.

Why do people still doubt Rudy?

There's nothing wrong in supporting a trade for a better player, but anyone wanting to get rid of Rubio for the sake of having him gone is a ****ing idiot.

Mitchell had a crappy 1st half of the season and Jingles seems to be invisible every other game, but some fans just have to have one person to take all the blame.

3 of our best 4 players have sucked to some degree to start the season, yet fans want to place all the blame on Rubio. It's ****ing stupid.

What blows my mind is that these nimrods haven't even noticed that the officiating this year has just flat-out prevented our defense from dominating games the majority of the time this year. Adam Silver decided that defense is the enemy of the NBA and wants every game to be 120-135. This has been a huge reason for our troubles, along with multiple players underperforming. Trying to place this all on one player is something some fans do because they are simple-minded and aren't capable of seeing the whole picture.

Rudy gets too much credit for his defense? I guess we should dial it back a little.

Tbh it's pretty rare that the opposing fans want Rubio in these threads.
And I noticed that the fan in this one wanting Rubio was wanting him for their bench unit.

True, but I'm interested in what they will do. Does Pop want to go through a rebuilding stage at this point? If they decide not too I just don't see how they won't be a treadmill team for quite a while.

They're a world class organization, and they'll either add pieces to compete, or rebuild correctly and go back to competing in a few years. Either way, it's absurd to make a claim about a team's fortunes a decade in the future. 10 years ago, we wanted to get rid of Millsap because he was too small to play the 4. 10 years is an eternity in the NBA.

Probably where the intelligent Spurs fans are hiding. I used to look forward to Spurs comments but they've grown increasingly more like Lakers fan quotes.

Lessee, an aging small market team without Pops as a coach stuck in the Western conference is not going to be perennial title contenders in the near future. They aren't going to suck enough to get a top pick either. If you were a top coach would YOU follow Pops into San Antonio? I mean, these fans have a lot higher standard of "success" than most other fans.
