Tea and other healthy crap

The Thriller

I've been looking to eat and drink healthier. Specifically, do any of you drink Acai tea or green tea? I know this Acai stuff has been talked about a lot. But is it just a craze? Do any of you drink it?

What are some of your favorite beverages, supplements, or other healthy crap that you eat?

I think Chia seeds are legit. I have always had a diet that I follow pretty closely and I started adding the seeds into protein shakes and sprinkling them on some food this summer and I think my energy levels went up quite a bit. They aren't tasty, they turn into a gel substance in liquid, and you'll crap your pants for awhile until your body adjusts to them, but man, they do something.

I recall a thread about cancer something or other. Perhaps that thread has some tips.

My family's huge into the Young Living oils that are grown in central Utah. That stuff is pricey

Have they discussed with you how the health industry just wants your money at the same time insisting on the necessity of plowing through $80 worth of oil each day to stay healthy?

I am a huge fan of green tea. I have heard conflicting reports on the acai berry in general. I guess you would have to do your research on that and come to your own conclusions. Maybe you'll enjoy both.

You should try a green tea *****.

EDIT: Really? Because the phrase "shooting liquid up your ***" is so much more family friendly...

The Acai berry thing has been turned into junk, whereas pure green doesn't have your so-called natural flavors.

Drink a lot of water, eat a ton of fruits and veggies, have lean meats/fish, and throw in some stronger starches (yams, etc.) and you'll be fine.

Another thing I've been experimenting with lately is Masoor Dal(Spicy Red Indian lentils). I hate lentils, but those babies are actually decent. A cup of those gets you ~ 600 calories/60 g protein and you can buy 15 lbs of that for 10 bucks and then another 2 or 3 bucks for the extra ingredients.

I finally got this. I am that slow.

I don't care for lentils either until they go in an Italian soup. Do you think these would blend in well?

Based on what I know of Italian ingredients, I'd say yes. That should probably be the litmus test of a good soup. If you can drop a cup of lentils in your soup and it still tastes good, you've got a good soup on your hands.
