The San Jose Sharks = 2012 Stanley Cup Champs

Haven't they choked their way out of the playoffs the last three or four years? I do believe they were the number one seed and lost in the first round one of those times.

I was about to say that the Sharks are the Dallas Mavs of the NBA, until remembering that they won't it this year. But seriously, the team is full of choke artists.

On a similar note, its interesting how difficult it is to predict who will win the Stanley Cup in Hockey. Good sport, in that regard. What I do know is my team will probably get the 1st overall pick again for the 3rd year in a row.

2 straight appearances in the Conference Finals is nothing to scoff at. Defense wins in the playoffs, and San Jose added Brent Burns and Colin White, kept Douglas Murray and Dan Boyle, and should see improvement from their younf d-men Vlassic and Demers (while also having two more competent D-men in Vandermeer and Braun). That's beastly. Havlat and Handzus should also improve their 2-way play and speed. Their third line looks a bit weak, but there's lots of time to improve there.

This is the year.

Wrong. Go Philly! F the Pens!
Weren't you not that big into hockey and was looking for an excuse to like a team?

Also you should listen to fatchipper, although not a surprise you chose the rival of the Pens.

Oh and lastly, why don't you go take a Fly'n leap

Yes and no. I really do enjoy watching it on TV and even more so live. I really don't care who is playing, I can sit and enjoy just about any team. That being said, I HATE The Penguins. I don't like the Avalanche either. I guess I root for the Flyers simply because they rival the Pens. I like the minor league team here in Salt Lake a lot and to top it off, my daughter loves going to the games. It's cheap and entertaining.

So anyway, the Sharks suck whale dork.

If/when the Sharks are healthy, finally gel (Burns, Havlat and Handzus are all going to be counted on in different roles), and perhaps find one more decent 3rd line (and occasional 2nd line) winger (they have enough cap flexibility to make a play at the deadline), they're going to be deadly. Very balanced, and built more for playoff success than in previous years.

Take out the "GVC" and put, "SaltyDawg" and replace "Sharks" with, "Utes", and see what happens. It's amazing.

Dude, the Sharks have been to the Western Conference Finals the last two seasons, including last year after a horrific start (they were out of the playoffs half way through the season). The team should be better, acquiring an elite PMD, Burns, and two very good two-way forwards in Havlat and Handzus. Yes, they lost Seto and Heatley, and could really use one more decent bottom 6 forward, but they've assembled a good group of talented players. I realize the story every year is that "this is the Sharks' year", and those seasons have ended in disappointment, but they have a team built to go deep (better defensive crop than in years past).

Not that I have anything against the Sharks but was trying to find the fight they showed on SportsNation of the Sharks player getting laid out and then follow it up with Asham's fight laying out a Cap's player and then reminding you how injured the Pen's are.

It was Douglas Murray, although he got up instantly. The other guy got very lucky. Douglas Murray is a monster.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3bLieLA4cw
