Who Is Going to be the surprise of Summer League

I was talking up Martin when he was announced on the roster. I posted a video where he stated he wanted to be a 3 & D player. The guy definitely has the needed offensive skills but I am not familiar with his defense. If he can play good defense then I would sign him to a 2-way contract without hesitation.

I think Wilder is going to win the Butterfield award as the guy who can ball but won't make the team and will end up getting paid well in Europe.

I also like Zach Thomas.

This is a pretty good Summer League roster - lots of good shooters. I expect a lot of 'bombs aways' from three which will leave the paint open for Bradley to score a lot of easy points.

The PF position is going to be highly competitive on this Summer League team.

No one knows. That's why it's a surprise. But the Jazz seem to have several guys who are passable NBA athletes and who can shoot the ball.

My hope is we find that:

Bradley is ready to go. It would make decisions on Udoh and Favors less pressing.

Allen is king of the 3 point bomb.

We find a a PF 3D player who's capable of rotation minutes. Basically, a taller Royce.

Peyton Aldridge has the chance to be fun to watch and if his 3 point shot is falling he will hlget an invite to the fall camp.

Of course Grayson Allen will be an obvious choice as he will be in to acclimate himself into the jazz system.

I want Tony Bradley to completely dominate. I hope he is spending some time at P3.

Isaac haas will be fun but I hope he doesn't leave some STD's in SLC. He should be backing up Bradley so minutes might be a little sparse.

Trey Lewis is my pick to be a breakout star. He also was successful in Europe. Good 3 pt shooter. He also played a year with Donovan.

Kelan Martin will have a chance to shine.

You have Eric McCree, Naz mitrou-long and George's niang who all have played for the jazz before

In all seriousness, I think Niang is going to be the best player on the court. Allen will lead the team in scoring because he'll shoot almost every chance he gets.

I will be interested to see how Diamond Stone does. He was a McDonald's all-American and had a decent year stats wise with the Stars. He is only 22 years old too.

I was looking up Kelan Martin stats and was liking what i was seeing. Like he dropped 30 on nova. He's got kind of a slow steady game, but hes got nice handles Im interested to watch him play for sure.

I second the notion that I’d like to see Bradley and Allen just wreck people.

Also looking forward to seeing the Stars foursome of Niang, McCree, Mitrou-Long and Stone. Sounds like a law firm.

Still hoping for a David Stockton encore with the SLC Stars this fall as well as the 5 Star recruit Darius Bazley.

Also had two games in the high 20s in the NCAA tournament.

How did Trey Lewis play at three colleges? Has anyone ever even seen that before?

Kelan’s Tape looks great, did he just fall through the cracks? How did he not get drafted?

Did a bit more examining, so his shooting numbers as a whole weren't great, but if you look at just big east play he did shoot over 40% from 3. He's not a super great athlete so that obviously hurt him but he does have nice measurables - 7 foot 3 wingspan. For a guy who had the ball in his hands as much as he did to only average 2 assists a game is concerning. And defense is concerning as well. But I am interested to watch him play.

Heavy legs- not a run/jump athlete. Pretty heavy in general, tbh. But mostly lack of athleticism. That's why he didn't get drafted, but I'm optimistic. He's good.
