The overwhelming sense I get from talking with people and listening is flexibility and opportunity. I don’t think they have their heart set on anything but want ammo to go do things. Also, shunting our expirings for straight draft capitol in next year's draft would suggest that the Jazz are prepping like they are doing the deal Tony talked about on or around draft day. We aren't making 3 selections in next year's draft.
That’s my hope. It was also my hope last year, however. Also, shunting our expirings for straight draft capitol in next year's draft would suggest that the Jazz are prepping like they are doing the deal Tony talked about on or around draft day. We aren't making 3 selections in next year's draft.
That would be a great approach. If you can secure that as a top ten pick and then sell that as a bird in hand right at its peak, then it’s a huge win (assuming you like what’s coming back). If we have a top ten pick we can send for someone right now… that might have more value than a pick in 2025 or beyond.
I think that is on the table. With the young players we have and the picks we have down the road I really don’t see us drafting three rookies that will be on the roster. I could also see the Taylor playing time being a showcase that allows a draft night trade as well. That’s my hope. It was also my hope last year, however.

I could also see us moving our good second this year for like 4-5 future seconds.
The Jazz are more boxed in this year as we have to do something with the picks. It is entirely possible that there is a prospect that they are in love with that they feel like they can maneuver into with multiple picks. I feel like it is much too early in the process for that though. That’s my hope. It was also my hope last year, however.
Yeah I think they will pick someone at 27/28 or whatever. I think they look to move 9 either in a win now deal or maybe to move up? Maybe it’s 9 plus Taylor in either scenario? Or 9 plus a future pick?I also hope we dont pick 3 rookies, and that is what the debate in the other thread is about from my perspective.
Not only can we give you insights and knowledge but can help with insomnia!!!I really enjoyed the first half. I fell asleep for the second half.
But falling asleep had nothing to do with y'all. Well done and keep it up! I think plenty of people might disagree, but I'm much more in favor of shorter episodes more frequently.

Pretty awesome that you guys have gotten to this point already. Really amazing work, and I appreciate what you are doing. Having Andy and Tony on is a crazy good start to a podcast. I would have loved for a deeper dive, but I know there is a balance between pushing/making your guest comfortable and I suppose as a fan podcast it's more important to make the guest comfortable. I always appreciate listening to Tony's opinions on basketball. Even if I don't agree with them, he makes good points.
I thought the very end of the Pod was the best part when he answered what his life is like during trade deadline time. It sounds like the, "work" he describes in the first of the pod is relationship building, and then the news breaking becomes the result of that, "work" where people within the organization will use him to break news vs others. At least that's what I took from him sitting by his phone waiting for calls/texts vs trying to pull information.
One recommendation I would have, and take it for what it's worth, but I think how you are interacting with each other is still a little clunky. There were times where you didn't know who was supposed to be talking or asking questions or some awkward pauses and lots of "do you have any more questions?" I think it could flow a lot better if instead of a cohost arrangement you had more of a host/producer arrangement.
Nice work!
If you're not already, in terms of feedback, would suggest you ask your early guests for feedback as they do these interviews a lot. Do it as you hang up - after the recording. I'm sure Andy or Tony would have tried to help out and offer a nugget or two to make the experience better for them, if applicable, which helps with your next guest... Just a thought.
I think you are onto the right type of player. Someone kind of shocking like that.I really enjoyed the podcast. Excellent work! OK, I’ll throw a name out there who the mystery player could be: Desmond Bane. Or maybe Jaden McDaniels.
