Offseason Plan + Lauri Thread

Clarkson and Collins do not help us win. We have not even gotten the 8 seed, even if we wanted the 8th seed and traded nobody we could not have gotten the 8th seed.
I meant 8th pick

While it may seem like the worst time ever to put faith in lotto balls, I see no other path forward.

I'm officially proclaiming, the Jazz should go all out to suck next year and get the best odds possible heading into next draft. Flagg is the grand prize, but there are some very nice consolation prizes as well.

Currently, I see no long term plan, no short term plan, no path to get better, no bright spot on the horizon. The best hope the Jazz have to be exciting quickly is to get a top pick in the next draft. Don't half *** it like the Wemby draft, from the opening tip next season we need to suck. I'm fine trading Lauri at this point, fine keeping him too, but not if he starts winning us games. Guarantee that #5 is the worst you could possibly do next year.

Let people get invested in hockey while the Jazz are terrible on the side, and we can get our hopes up again one year from now.

The only one remotely close is the Houston one. Most were poopy trash.
Agreed, not near enough and then you get to Houston and it's Jabari and #3 overall (in a bad class, granted) so the author is kind of all over the place with Lauri's value.

I'd want one bona fide blue chip asset as the starting point.

Would anyone deal Collins for Wiggins?

He has one more year than Collins on his contract. He has a higher ceiling than Collins and maybe Utah would be a good situation for him? Can Utah rehab his value?

Helllllllllll no!!!!!

Wiggins is unmotivated and uncommitted in GS… I’m sure he’d lock in here lol. Dude got paid and checked out. I’ll take Collins all day.

I assumed no, but seeing HH's response, clearly opinions are varied on this one.

I guess if the Warriors would trade Wiggins for Collins then that is not a very good sign?
Collins likes basketball and tries hard to be a good teammate. Even if his best is not as good as Wiggins best I’m cool with that. Cuz our chances of getting Wiggins best is very low.

Maybe he just really hates Draymond?
He was mid in Minny and the owner signed him and was like "you promise to try right..." He locked in for GS for one year and got paid. He is either dealing with some mental health stuff or is just kinda not into basketball right now. No telling if he would actually show up to a place he wasn't excited to be. The risk/reward is just not there for me.

Ehh, he's proven he can be a NBA playoff player. Collins hasnt and likely never will. IDK if Id do it, but I would think long and hard.

And despite all of that I despise having him on my team.

It might just be a both sides need a reset kind of thing.
That would be my thought. I'd do it just because it's something new. Doesn't move the needle either way but Wiggins certainly has more upside and fits what we need more than Collins.

What? Collins has played well in the playoffs too. And we are now worried about the playoffs? okay

And brush off whatever the hell Wiggins is going through that cause him to miss a half season with a contender and come in out of shape as "ehh".

If you hate Collins wait until you watch Wiggins mail it in.

Again- he disappeared for half a season on a contender. Don't expect him to lock in here to fight for the 10th seed. Wiggins is on the all-apathy team with DeAndre Ayton... If they want to give us a pick to swap Wiggins and Collins then I would probably do it. Straight up... nah.
