Did Gary Payton shutdown MJ?

IDK why anyone thinka Gobert should be able to guard Jokic. He makes him work. He had a game ceiling deflection on a Jokic lob in Game 1.

When it's all said and done Jokic will be in the convo for a top 5 player of all time.
So Gobert is the best defensive player in the league and can't stop Jokic from dropping 40 on his head when the games actually count?

Which is why he is and always will be a loser

Only watched chunks of the first half and the end. Rudy was helpless against joker. Gordon and Murray also just hit a ton of tough shots. One of the reasons Minny looked like a buzz saw was Murray looked like a shell of himself. Well that’s no longer the case. Ant also just couldn’t get it going. As soon as Denver had a crack they opened the game up. Pretty wild turnaround.

The officiating in the first couple games also played into Denver’s physical defense and really helped.
I watched the whole game. They started with Rudy on Joker instead of KAT who has guarded him more in the series. That didnt work and Rudy couldnt slow him down, so they went back to having KAT on Joker and Rudy on Gordon, but that didnt work either.

Joker had one of those games where he looked to score very aggressively and Malone referred to that in one of the midgame interviews where he said he just wants him to do so unless they start doubling him.

KAT on Joker works but he can't help himself from fouling when it makes no sense, that's why they started putting Rudy in him more.

I think the Wolves should try 3 bugs more often in Game 6. You need Naz out there to guard Jokic so Rudy can help and you need both Naz/KAT floor spacing.

I still won't be surprised if Minnesota wins this series
I had nuggets in 7 and still do but I don't feel confident about it.
I bet Ant looks like prime Jordan in game 6 and we get an amazing game 7.

Then Magic/Jordan/Lebron/Duncan/Joker will be the GOAT lineup after this year.
Kareem with 5 chips, 6 MVPs and the most unguardable shot in the history of the NBA will remain the starting center in that lineup even if Joker wins this year and the next.

Kareem definitely a better career and player at this point.

But on that super team, Jokic is such a better fit.

Shooting is a little sus too if we want to make a modern team. I'd swap Magic for Curry too.

Hate or love either of our former stars, they are both competing in the semi's, albeit with varying success while our team is having an identity crisis and doggy paddling for double-digit picks. I was on the keep both of them train so these middling time-waster seasons are hurting me.

First off, Wemby was the defensive player of the year. Rudy getting it this year was a legacy nod and the last one he'll get. Second, Jokic is un-guardable, by anyone. Rudy is an incredible off ball defender and does remarkably well at his size guarding perimeter players, but offense always beats defense in this league. Rudy's clumsy and not a reliable offensive threat, but everyone already knows that. The Rudy hate is pitiful plucking of low hanging fruit. You're not blazing any new trails, so give it a rest.

Yep. I go with joker with supporting cast. Especially with you idea of swapping in curry. Joker can set up all those great scorers with his passing. LeBron, Jordan, and Duncan can all defend well enough to cyber the deficiency of curry and joker

It was named a GOAT lineup though. Not all time super team.
I took it differently than you. I thought he was making his ideal lineup. Like the greatest lineup you could make.

Poster probably should have just posted "these are now the best players at each position" instead of using the word "lineup".

Saying goat lineup insinuates a group of players greatness together rather than individuals to me.

I dont know if it was just me who had it wrong.

If its meant to be an all time super team then it would never work. Joker has the best career 3P percentage of those guys at 35%.

Ya get Steph in there instead of magic and things change dramatically. (Plus magic is a bit redundant with 2 great passers with great size in joker and LeBron) Also, if I'm making this hypothetical lineup I don't go by career averages but rather I pick their best season of their career (which might not change the shooting aspect all that much but maybe it would. I know LeBron has had some good 3 point shooting seasons but not sure they coincide with his best seasons for example)

Even prime Jordan couldn't carry Rudy who provides 0 offense and gets cooked for 40 defensively
They're losing and it's over

The Mitchell stuff is bizarre.

Am I crazy for thinking the Cavs are withholding him at this point because they

A) Know they can't win this series
B) Know Mitchell is gone
and
C) Want to avoid any big injury to him when they know they're going to trade him in this offseason?

I think it’s more Mitchell withholding himself tbh
