Potential Trade Targets

I could see OKC potentially being interested in Clarkson. They don't have anyone like him off their bench who can go and get their own shot over anyone. He could be valuable in the playoffs for them. So Here's an idea:

Clarkson for Bertans and Poku and however much draft compensation we can get from them.

Jazz perspective:
We get the starting guard upgrade we need with a guy who matches with Lauri age-wise, has AS upside and is tied up in a team friendly deal for multiple years going forward.
Why do we want to trade for Murray? I don’t get it. I’m not trolling or anything, but we just drafted Key. If we develop him well he becomes a catalyst to making this team better because of his rookie deal. What does Murray do to propel the Jazz to where they want to get to. He hampers our chances significantly to get a star by trade and draft. We have more pressing needs than a pg. we should be looking to get better shooting and defense on the wing.

Just my two cents.

Because he's a borderline all-star quality talent who is potentially available.

The Jazz are making calls on anyone with talent at this point.

They picked up John Collins because he averaged 22 ppg his 3rd year in the league and they decided why not, it's a low cost pick up.

Murray is one of the better perimeter defenders in the league. He creates for himself and others. He is on a very nice contract locked up for multiple years. He is the same age as Lauri which is great for timelines. He can score, rebound, assist, and defend so he is not one dimensional. Adding another 20 point scorer to the team is nice. Anyone better is unavailable.

He's, at best, an average defender.

Trade Keyonte/Hendricks/Picks for Trae. Would think it would take 3 picks. The inclusion of Key/Hendricks counts as two picks, so 5 picks would put it right around the price for these star trades.

Trade Clarkson for Grimes (Ainge magic to squeeze a first?).

Trade Olynyk for assets (Ainge magic gets a first?). Maybe Jordan Walsh?

Try to trade Sexton for DFS and the 2025 Suns 1st rounder.

Trae/ Dunn
Grimes/ Ochai
DFS / THT/ Sensabaugh
Lauri/ Simone
Walker/ Collins/ Yurtseven

Is this a perfect Trae Young team? Two 3&D wings who dont need the ball. The best shooting big in the NBA and the best rim protector in the NBA.

He was a great perimeter defender early in his SA days. It’s really tapered off since he became a primary option… even in SA. I do believe Hardy can get the best of a guy like Murray. So maybe he would do slightly better here.

The Embiid news of 4 weeks and an evaluation seems to suggest that he will be back this season. I think that is the KO destination. They have the right mix of expiring contracts and have a really good 2nd this year from Toronto (#36) and a handful of seconds that could be good... their own after 2027 and LAC in 2029.

Remember how KO hulks up when Lauri is out and you need a starter. He could do some version of that for 2 months and be a valuable backup big. We can also help get them below the tax.

Maybe if they are confident in Embiid's ability to return.

If Atlanta would take either Clarkson or THT/Olynyk plus either Minnesota's 2025 unprotected 1st or 2 protected picks (worst in 2025 and worst in 2027 then it would be worth it. We would improve the guard lineup, have a better creator for our bigs, plus still have lots of future draft picks
