Did he really or is that hyperbole? Also, what were Locke's views on Kanter pre-trade?

Right, so +/- is only a useful stat when it supports your point, I suppose. LOL, whatever Jazz fans. You want to make yourselves feel better about losing a 22 year-old who never played college ball, is averaging 20/10, and will likely get better defensively over time, go for it. I hope that helps diminish the sting from season after season of players leaving and rebuilding.
Historically, offensively talented big men that are piss poor defenders don't ever improve their defense as their careers go on. See Carlos Boozer, Carmelo Anthony, Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, etc... I don't think Kanter will be an exception.OKC record vs Western Conference contenders this year is "maybe 2-15" according to OKC beat writer Darnell Mayberry, he didn't have the stats on hand but they can't be that far off.
Kanter probably is the worst defensive player in the NBA. An argument can be made that center is the most important position for defense (look how many DPOY went to centers) and Kanter is probably the worst defensive center in the NBA.
Kanter has all the tools to be as good defensively as Omer Asik or Jusuf Nurkic (potential that he will likely never reach). However saying Kanter cannot improve whatsover on defense at 22 years old is being naïve.

During the last game (or as it one before that?) Nick Collison gave Kanter a crash session on PNR defense during a time out.
Lol. And? Do you not think Kanter has had an endless list of people give him info about PNR defense in his 4 years in the NBA?
