Why trading up for Russell should be the priority

Am I the only one who doesn't read karl malone's posts unless they are no more than two paragraphs long or have a TLDR version because it's unhealthy to fall asleep behind computer desk?

It would cost way too much to move up from #12 to the top five. If we finish in the the top three, I'm all for it, but not at the expense of all the assets we've accumulated.

I too like Byron Russell. But I don't think we have to give up this many assets to get someone in his 40s.

Agree.. and I wouldn't do that. Although I am not as high on Russell as most here. I like him more around #5.

Even at #5, the price for moving up from #12 would be steep. Hood and the #12 won't get it done, The #12 and future firsts won't be enough. Agree with you and idiot; the price for moving up is not worth it.

Not really in love with any free agent PG's, but who knows what may be available at the deadline. Or even this summer if a team is looking to clear cap space. WE could always trade the draft rights to whomever we pick, especially if that player is a big and then we convince Tomic to come over.

we're okay at PG, imo.

We need a scoring wing and another BIG.

Philly, NY, and the Lakers all need PGs. Good luck having Russell or Mudiay slip past them.
And on the back stop, you have Sacramento, who needs a PG and PF. Maybe the Jazz could trade Burke or Exum + 1st rounder for Sac's 1st, but I don't think they would go for it and I don't think Russell or Mudiay would be there at 6.
If Jazz stick at 12 and want a PG, Jerian Grant or Cameron Payne will probably be available.

I think we need more shooting than scoring on the wing. For example, I'd take 12-14ppg wing who shoots 6-7 3s a game and shoots them at 39-40%(Danny Green, Wesley Matthews type) than someone like Demar DeRozan who is a scorer(20-22ppg), but not a shooter(29-30% from 3).

I still think Jordan pushed off and that Russell is past his prime. I say don't trade to get him.
