What's new

Head Coach Jerry Sloan to resign today :(

It feels mandatory to post in this epic and soon-to-be historical Jazzfanz thread, so hear goes.

Jerry Sloan is pissed at the soft *** way league players have become. These guys don't work for ****. There isn't a player in the league who puts it all on the line for an entire 48 minutes every single night. Look how hard Stockton and Malone played. There isn't a single player willing to play at that level anymore. They're whiny little bitches and Jerry just can't stand it any more.

That's my spin and I'm sticking to it.

This is something I could stand by, however, I still think he's just tired and ready to be done.

Jazz need to give Harpring a ten day contract, appoint him team captain, and make damn good and sure he beats some toughness into these give-up, ***** bitches.

Thought so

When D'Will came out in the open that Sloan needed to play Fes more, I thought this was coming to a head. How did Sloan respond to the captian of his team suggestion? He played Fes less than seven and a half minutes the next game. Look for the Jazz to play better now that Sloan is gone. That said I wish Sloan had of retired before it came to this.

Yes even in retirement the legend of Stockton and Malone continues to grow. Pretty soon S&M will have zero turnovers and six rings. Things change and some people have a hard time dealing with it.

You mean the guys that lead the league in comebacks in the 4th quarter? Yeah, they sure give up easily...

Quite honestly, this is GREAT news.

Not because we're losing Sloan. That's a nightmare.

It's great because every dumbass b-ball know it all Sloan hater is about to get owned.

Within 2 months we will lose 25% of posters, who happen to be the absolute WORST posters on this board.

Praise Jebus.

This is a great post. Made me LOL. I'd give you rep but it won't let me right now.

Although I want to think that he wasn't, if Deron Williams' behavior is behind this at all, then I want him gone too. I'm a Jazz fan, and Coach Sloan WAS the Jazz, and he took the franchise as far as they are ever going to go, IMO. Deron and other players will come and go. Damn this is a sad day for Jazz fans.

If the players were not buying into Sloan's system anymore, let's hope that some changes will right the ship.

one of the ESPN guys (Chris Broussard maybe) was saying (I think just after the press conference) that Sloan was upset that Boozer and Matthews were allowed to walk and were replaced with others who don't fit the "system" as well as those two did

who knows, if there was some tension between Boozer and Deron, perhaps this was part of it

very shocked and sad, I sure was hoping the Jazz would win a championship under him - - but he probably could tell it wasn't going to be happening this year or next

Jer old boy, it sure won't be the same without you....
but hopefully the adjustments will go smoothly and the team will be even stronger

I missed the start of TNT. What did the crew(particularly Barkley) say about the situation?
