What's new

2015 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

Wow cool I was gonna say if I had to guess I would have guessed that you're an engineer of some sort... I guess that is similar? Electrical engineering?

Well, ya electrical engineering is fair. It's materials engineering to be exact.

Sounds cool man. Quite a few engineers here, Dong2ha is in bio-engineering I think.

Enjoying it?

It's difficult to enjoy the same thing for too long. At least for me. I wish I was one of those people who jump from one startup to another, trying out different ideas. But I seem to value stability too much. So it will remain a fantasy. But I do work in science, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I'm a Junior High teacher. History, geography and study skills for at risk kids. Also a football coach. Right now I'm coaching my son's 7th grade team, but when he gets older, I'll move back up to high school.

Yeah this is certainly true... stability is great and all but life's short. I certainly want to try a few more things out before I'm too old.

Wow that's cool man, did you know QSH is also a teacher? I think he teaches English in NJ.

I did know that. We've got quite a few teachers that post here.

I didn't teach when I lived in New York, but I coached kids who came from poor families. Lots of drugs and gang issues. Some of the worst home lives that you can imagine. Tough place to be a teacher. Don't know if Jersey is as bad, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I used to volunteer at local schools to help out kids from the Middle East who couldn't yet speak any English. Really enjoyed that.
