DL said in an interview that Lyles' shot has more arc when he takes a dribble or two and it's really flat when it's a catch and shoot. He said he thinks he had some coaches (PKM mentioned his high school coach did this) or his dad practiced dribble pull-ups with him a lot and he has some minor mechanics that need to be fixed.
