I'd hate to trade Exum, then have him turn into the next Jason Kidd in the next 3-4 years. Not saying he will but that's the other side of the coin argument.

Jazz will NOT be trading Exum, DL isn't that stupid, The offer will be Burke and picks for a veteran PG this season. The vet starts this year and next until Exum is 100%, then splits time with Dante. Gives Exum more time to develop.

We also have to realize that championship windows are going to get smaller under the current CBA. Contracts are shorter more players will move around. If we have a chance to be great we may have to sell some long-term assets/flexibility to go for it at some point. I think that point is still in the future.

There was plenty of discussion about moves at the pg position that the cake bakers were against.

I'm a "cake baker" but I was all for upgrading the PG position. I've never been sold on Burke and Cotton was nice last season, but he's a backup. But I'm also a realist. I knew if DL couldn't find a reasonable trade, he'd go with our current crop. You don't jeopardize the future of the Jazz by overpaying (i,e, giving up young, great assets) for stop-gap players,

Vet PG's may be available at the end of pre-season or at the trade deadline. Or they may not be. But we're not getting an all-star PG. So beyond Burke and picks, I hope DL doesn't offer any of our young studs - and that includes Hood and Burks,
