What's new

CBS reports tonight that Deron Williams has informed associates he looks to join Amar'e in NY

As far as this report goes, the New York sports media needs a new player to talk about. This Melo trade drama will end on Thursday regardless of his destination, and if ends with him going to the Nets, those guys are going to need a new player to pine over.

Jazzfanzs complaining about no loyalty from DW and then showing none by taking the word of some tweet'n "journalist".[/QUOTE

How Naive are you? Acting like Dwill is you boy and you must have loyalty to him? LMFAO. He is a player for a TEAM I am lotal too. You are a joke. Dwill has given us NO reason to believe he is LOYAL to the TEAM over the past 12 months.

What exactlly has he done to show disloyalty? Are you upset because he didn't take Sloan whipping like he should? REally no loyalty. He playing injured. Sure seems that people complain about loyalty seemed to forget or excuse AK's disloyalty during the playoffs or Boozer talking about getting his money. Now those are examples of disloyalty. So tell me EXACTLY what you think he has done that has constituted disloyalty and use FACTS and not your homer opinion about what you think happened. My standard of loyalty as a fan is that I give all players the benefit of the doubt until I have sufficient information to make a plausible conclusion that a specific players is not loyal to the Jazz. My loyalty as a fan remains with the team and not a specific player. So your assumption that I was suggesting that DW was my boy, must have resulted from you having hurt feelings as well as being completely ridiculous.

If DW actually does something to deserve to be boo (disagreeing with the coach is not on my list because then I would have to consider Stockton, Malone, Hornacek, Russell etc disloyal). So before you call me naive or a joke how about you back up your opinion with some actual facts instead of responing like a emotional teenager.

Jazz fans need to get over this "loyalty" business. Stockton was an anomaly.

Bronze statues and retired numbers are great, but most players want a ring above all else. If he leaves, he won't be chasing money. You don't think the Jazz are going to throw a max deal at Deron in 2012? He'll be going after a championship.

You don't know what's going to be in this next CBA. The Jazz may be able to prevent him from leaving if the franchise tag is approved.

Deron will be leaving a crazy amount of $$$ on the table if he left the Jazz regardless of a new CBA or not. The home team is always afforded the right to give a more lucrative offer to it's own FA's. Who knows, maybe now that there is a bit of a regime change we will start getting more athletic players instead of system players. I'd prefer a little of both but but what ever gets the job done is fine by me. If we had 10 Gordon Haywards and Deron Williams and that got us a championship I'd be happy.

Anyways, I digress, Deron isn't going anywhere unless there is a complete meltdown by one side or the other.

You guys do realize he has another year after this one in Utah, and then another after that which is a player option, right? Point is, a lot can happen in the next two years, good or bad for Jazzfanz.

At this point, I do not care if he leaves or not.

With that said, it would be understandable if he wanted to leave. I know the Jazz can not break the bank like some teams, but at the same time though, they have not done much to go after a championship. They keep the same team essentially for almost 5 years. If they were serious about a championship, they would have gotten rid of AK's contract years ago when they had the chance, which has cost us several players since like Maynor and Matthews.

I don't considermyself a deron hater in all. Actually I am a fan. I just don't want to see the jazz in the same boat as the nugs two years from now. Who in denver thought this was going to go down last year? And they have a good team, just two years removed from the wcf.

I'd personally much rather have a capable SF and SG than a top PG. Just look at the championship teams. Most usually don't have a top PG. But they are a lot better than the Jazz are currently at the SF/SG positions.
Amen. Although Boston had Rondo, he was the weakest link that season. And LA won it with Derek freakin' Fisher, who's 50+ yrs of age. Parker is top-notch, though.

Utah absolutely needs to upgrade over AK, Bell and CJ. None of those guys can shoot. Hitting 40% of FG's just ain't gonna cut it. If the Jazz could get 2 legit starters for Deron or one + a high lottery pick, I'd say pull the trigger. With all the good young PG talent in the league. it's economically foolish to pay MAX money. Deron is just not dominant enough.

Via tribjazz,

Jazz's Williams said he plans to follow LeBron James' style during free agency. Won't answer questions until he makes a decision.

Well we all know how that turned out. Kinda sounds like he has his mind made up already too lol
