Time to root against the Nets(more than usual) ala the NYK Watch Thread last year.

Hey maybe the Jazz can turn DWill into Gordan Hayward II

I'm predicting right now - DWill's wrist injury will get a lot worse once he gets off the plane in Newark, NJ.

I bet he misses about a dozen games.

Deron and Avery Johnson. I wish I had league pass just to watch this. If Deron would listen to Avery and learn to play defense, he could be the best pg in the nba. If he tries to tell Avery how to defend the pick and roll--MELT DOWN.

There you go.

I wonder how long before DWill plays for Nets? His wrist is still injured, and his wife is pregnant & due in two weeks.

Nets don't play till Friday at San Antonio, then Sat in Houston. The NJ fans will get to watch Nash abuse Dwill on Monday.

NJ's schedule is not super difficult to close out the season. at Toronto twice, Toronto at home, Golden State (Dwill owns Monta Ellis), at Washington, at Detroit at clevland and Philly and Minny come to town.

They also play Miami, Spurs, Bulls (twice), Boston, Knicks (twice), Orlando and Atl all of which should be losses.

Williams to Lopez is nice. But shut that down and he has to rely on Morrow or Wright? I'm thinking the Nets will only be slightly improved the rest of the season. Perhaps 30 wins at most (that would require .500 ball), more likely in the range of 25-27. NJ is definitely taking a risk that they'll be able to lure a superstar and Deron will re-up. Jazz should land somewhere in the 6-10 range in terms of a lottery pick. Is the 6 and 14 good enough to trade up to top-3? Would it be worth it for a player like Perry Jones?

Here is a break down of the Nets remaining schedule.

Home games: 13
Away games: 12

vs over .500: 10
vs under .500: 15

back-to-back games: 8

That should be enough depending on team needs and players available. When Deron was drafted it took #6, #27 and a future (turned out to be a #30 the next year) to get the Jazz to #3. #14 should be more valuable than the #27 and a future pick, so it's possible they could move even higher.

Plus someday doesn't the law of averages have to work in the Jazz favor? They dropped 2 spots in 2005, so don't the basketball gods still owe them some lottery success?
