Currently shooting .434% from the 3pt line on 4.5 attempts per game (would be career high in attempts per game if stays at this #). Shooting .531% in the month of December on 5.4 attempts per game.

Only 3 guys who are shooting a higher % than Hayward also have more attempts: Curry, Teletovic, and Thompson.

I have been saying it for weeks..... i bet on the over for hayward three point makes in a game every time it is available to bet on (last night it was not :()
I have won that bet like 5 times in a row. Dude is killing it from three.

Awesome.

I've been disappointed we haven't seen Faves shoot the three about 1-1.5 x a game this season. I remember him doing it on a drawn up play five seconds into a game last year and looking smooth, and knowing Quin loves stretch bigs and how Millsap developed that aspect of his game the year Quin was with the Hawks, I thought we'd see more perimeter game from Favors this year. Maybe this year was fine tuning his midrange and next year we will see it doe.

Hayward plays video games. I think he understands advanced strategies. I bet he listens to the same guys Locke does with regards to high volume three point shooting.

Locke was saying that everybody who plays GS starts bombing 3s--way more than ususal. He thought Hayward started after that.

It looks like he had a single game with 6 or more attempts prior to GS and has done it six times since.

Locke is shocked Durant hasn't figured out the math. The league is lucky he hasn't.

If this is true then he needs to take more 3's...

You know partly the reason he makes so many is because of shot selection? It's not like he has anyone on this team drawing attention away from him or making plays for him on a consistent basis. He can't just bomb three's and have them be higher % shots.

People always talk about how 'Hayward isn't a number one option blah blah blah", but I've never actually taken time to consider just how ****ing good he would be as a clear number two option. Like can you imagine how efficient he could be playing next to lebron/kd/curry, people would be talking about how he should have his own team a la klay Thompson.

THE year he is with Hawks? You do not remember Miami Heat game?

Dude get real. Millsap stretches his game every season Favors has stretched his game every season. Your cakks n pies in the skies wishes are unbearably whiny. Have you not seen his free throw extended jumper? Hero Favors is smooth.

Don't let that bet roll forever. Hayward has a history of getting hot like this and then disappearing.

The one thing to note that's different this season is he is playing a much less ball-dominant role and is getting some pretty clean looks. He's more or less playing the role everyone thought he should play (3rd cog).

Hayward is notorious for slow starts. Especially his shooting. I'm sure he won't average >50% 3pts, but he'll stay above 40%.

not really sure who are the 1st and 2nd cogs of which you are inferring

That would be Favors and Burks who take less shots, score less points, and play less minutes per game than Hayward. obvi

Does anyone else find it makes sense that Trey Burke averages 3 assists pg, and Trey Lyles averages 3 rebounds pg?

This is different than previous times he has gotten hot. The most games Hayward has had in a season with more then 3 makes and more than 6 attempts from 3 is 8 games. This season he already has 7. His 3-point attempt rate is higher than it has ever been and same with his 3pt% (minus his rookie season when he barely shot the ball)
