What's new

What would heal a lot that ails the Jazz...

Alpha scorer. Add an alpha to the Gobert/Favors/Hayward trio and this team is lights out amazing. I love Exum, but they should have tanked their asses off for a real shot at Wiggins/Parker.

Who are these go to guys everybody always talks about?
Lebron (27% 3pt), Steph, Harden (who is shooting 41/33%), PG (43% FG), Westbrook, Lilliard, Melo (41/35%) Wiggins (43/26%)

Are Dwade and Dirk still that guy? Kobe is not. Since they were mentioned, Wiggins (43/26%), Jabari (10.8 ppg)

I just don't see us landing any of the above names. If we are going to draft them, it usually takes a couple of years for them to get there. If this is our only hope our chances are incredibly small.

Our team has been able to compete with anyone this year when they want to. I think we have a really good group. They need to take it a couple notches higher, but I think they have some real potential.

Here is a list of the players that have the most made fgs in clutch. Dirk is the only name in the top 10 above >/= 50% Ironically Favors is #6 with 71%.

Here it is sorted by % with at least 10 attempts:

Favors #1, Burks #5. Tell me Burks can't take over, though I am shocked he only has 2 fts in clutch.

Look at the fg and 3pt%. The list is not that much different than what we have on shots made. Some of them really suck in clutch. We just see highlights. The boys need to step it up and put it together, because they are capable.

Interesting that Klay only has 2 attempts. With them it's Steph, Iggy or Draymond.

Still on board the Richaun Holmes train, think he's been one of the few bright spots in Philly. Think he could be had reasonably cheaply with the incoming glut of bigmen they will have: Noel, Okafor, Embiid, Saric, maybe somebody in this draft? He could take over the Booker role in the future while providing a bit more rim protection.

How many top shelf free agents are going to come to Utah for a bench role? We are going to have to get someone past their due date because a young up and comer isn't going to slot themselves behind Favors and Gobert for the far foreseeable future.
I'm not even talking "top shelf." Certainly DL could have done better than Pleiss, Withey, Millsap, Johnson and NO starting PG. Jazz had around $15m to spend. They could have signed a couple of decent backups (6th men types) then used exceptions to fill the roster. Instead, DL went cheap. Every year DL talks about having assets and cap space to be a "player" in free agency and every year it's ATNA.
