18-19 Freshman year at MSU
19-20 Transfer year at Duke
20-21 Sophomore year at Duke
21-22 Rookie year with Jazz
22-23 2nd year with Jazz
One of the biggest knocks on Hood was his age, so you expect his development level to be closer to peaking (less upside). Because of this, I wasn't a big fan of drafting him (that and I hate Duke). That said, I liked LaVine even less, and still feel that way. Hood has a high BBIQ, which if he stays healthy, will mean he will have a long and successful career. LaVine makes a lot of bonehead plays. Not sure he will change. He may end up being better, but I wouldn't take that bet.
Hood has become one of my favorite Jazz players. A lot of players on this board seem to like LaVine more than Wiggins, which is simply nuts. Does anyone on this board watch any other games but the Jazz? Wiggins is really good on both ends of the floor.
Wiggins is okay but what you see is what you get with wiggins.. He is a better version of Loul Deng. The Twolves are building that team around Anthony Towns not Wiggins.
Who is bashing Rodney Hood?
Point them to me so I can laugh in their faces.
You are right. I didn't know he sat out a year. Still doesn't matter. He was still coming off a 10 ppg year at MSU and not even playing ball, while Zach is in the NBA.
Even if you want to look back at Zach last year and compare it to Hood's year at MSU, he still was doing a lot more. He was dropping 37 points on the Warriors.

lol. what are you talking about. You are making too much of this. It doesn't matter. What? LaVine was also a Freshman in college when he was 18-19, just like Hood. Only difference is that Hood is 5 (or so) months older in their respective classes.
Hood has very good handlesLavine has handles on the ball and Hood does not. That is what will keep Hoods game from going to a different level. He basically is a 3 D player at best. Lavine can take it to the rack and shoot it.. His defense needs to step up but someo can teach him this since he has all the athletic ability he could be a lock down defender. People that think Hood has a brighter future are nothing but HOMERS. Not one Gm would take Hood over Lavine at this point.
Hood has very good handles
Agreed. For a 2/3 Hood has very good handles. LaVine actually has a pretty loose handle and plays a bit reckless. Hood has fewer turnovers per game and averages 7 more minutes than LaVine.

and is 2.5 years older.
Even so, I wouldn't trade LaVine for Hood. It is not even a question.
Hood's handles are great. They aren't flashy or anything, so they aren't going to stand out. The biggest thing for Hood is just using his off hand more and finishing with contact around the rim, which he is improving on.
