What's new

I can't believe how young the team is

I was outside today, I can't believe how blue the sky is.

I hope this team gives the FO enough of a reason to dig deep and pay to keep it together. I think there's a chance that if they have some reasonable success over this year and next that they could really start to become something special.
The sky is the layer of atmosphere under which we live, It is made up of several colorless gases. The gasses interact with the light coming from the sun to give the impression of color. It isn't really blue, so I understand why you have a hard time believing it... :)

Would you rather have the Minnesota roster or ours?

We are more loaded across the board. But they have TWO potential superstars. We still don't have that guy.

They have 1 potential super-star and a carbon copy of Demar Derozan.

Lmao.

He's what, 20? You sound bitter.

No, I just think shooting is very important in today's game and if you absolutely can't do it, it can hold you back from being a superstar. I see him being a very very good player, but I just don't see him being top 10.

Also, wtf do I have to be bitter about with regards to Wiggins? It's not like the Jazz had a shot at drafting him.

Plenty of time to improve.

He's a more valuable asset than anyone on our team.

We also have a far superior front office and coach.

After talking with wolves fans on their fan board, I'd say ours. Better defense, and capacity for more diversity on offense, and in today's NBA more shooting. While they have a couple super athletes we are quicker and more athletic across the board.

Agree. Though defensively, Gobert is a star and Exum as potential as a top closer, I see Exum as a future star.

The Jazz is so young that if they were to start slowly replacing the older players with young players (after 1-2 seasons of grooming), they can kinda keep the average player age in stasis for many years to come.. If I was in charge the team would be even younger, been saying that for some time.

If you think in terms of "opening a playoff window" this situation is totally ideal. Their preparing to keep that window open for quite some time.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding u here but youth and title contender doesn't mix. How is it team supposed to find any continuity and rhythm?

Actually, Cy's thoughts aren't far from what wolves fans think. I asked about wolves fans about Wiggins if they thought he'd be a star. Couple things that stand out. They said he has potential to be a Paul George type player, but will probably be the next, yep u guessed it... DeMar Derozan. Also they said other then being a good one on one defender, he's kind of a one trick pony as all he does is score. Said if he's not scoring then he brings nothing to the game as he doesn't get assists has tons of zero rebound games and doesn't get many steals.

They aren't even sure he will be a top 15 player and see a lot of Derozan in him.

Also said Lavine has potential but is really dumb as rocks. Many have given up on him already. Some think it's a bigger problem then just being young. They feel his overall IQ is bad.

The wolves fans wish like hell they could pair one of Gobert or Favors with KAT. And really like hood a ton too. Most would trade Lavine straight up for Hood. We could end up with 4 top thirty guys where as they have KAT top 5. And one top 30. (Wiggins). Give me our roster, and I didn't mention Exum as he's so unproven at this point.

Wow King Cy doesn't think Wiggins is going be an all star in the league.lmao... Shooting is important and his shot is better now then it was in high school and college. He will continue to improve... This is just funny.. Jazz roster so young and good but Wiggins nah he is DeRozan number 2.lol..okay

Why would they want Hood? They have Shabbaz who has done fairly well in the league thus far

please name the 4.. Hayward, Gobert, and Favors I am guessing but who is your 4th?

Isn't this team finding continuity and rhythm right now? They're the youngest in the league and mired with injuries, and still playing .500 ball and holding down a playoff spot...

I'm saying if they can consistently groom players to replace old ones, while playing competitive ball, I believe the cream will rise to the top, thats the right way to do things, this also includes stashing players to develop so they could have lets say 20 'projects' going at once, it'd result in their best free agents being restricted, which obviates the 'no one will sign in Utah' issue.. Also if they could return assets for the older/expiring players it'd extend the shelf life of those draft picks for years after they exit...

What I'm talking about is kinda like the polar opposite of attrition..

They are, but not title contender continuity or rhythm. Only way u do this is if u have a top superstar. Those are hard to come by. Takes a young team a few years to start to figure out winning. Jazz are just now starting to learn to figure this out.

Who was the top superstar on the 2004 Pistons again?? I forgot.

The Jazz is doing a much better job at stringing together wins, given the current circumstances than some here are ready to admit, because they don't want to get their hopes up.. Which isn't the proper read, IMO.

There should be extreme optimism here in Jazzland, thats the way I see it, I kinda think I'm gonna be spot on about this tbh, I'm pretty good at having the last laugh.

I think the FO's really going to have to go out of their way to **** up all this momentum they've built..

Wiggins is a sure fire All-Star for years to come, I just dont think he will be a super-star. I guess it's just semantics, but I don't see him being a top 10 player.

KAT is a sure-fire top 10 player though.

No one has more optimism then me, but we aren't a serious contender for a title just a good young team. If this team can for the most part stay together they will in my mind eventually be contenders.
