Whether you agree with his opinions or not, he was a brilliant man.

Do you realize how many evil people this sentence could apply to?
Yes. Your point? Are you trying to say that Scalia was evil, or are you just trying to prove some inane point that has nothing to do with the topic?
I agree with Siro that we need a centrist.
I am glad that the appointment process is becoming more politicized in the congress. Presidents have politicized the actual court by appointing judges further to the left and right than SC justices probably should be. Congressional gridlock hopefully will force the appointment of a centrist.
Kinda annoying that the Dems need to take the high road, when the GOP would 100% elect as right wing of a judge as possible.
Neither Bush appointment was as right as possible. Roberts, specifically, is just right of center. And it isn't really taking the high road. We're better served by a centrist Justice who would make judgements based on a careful analysis of all of the facts, instead of a default ideological position.

Dems in the Senate passed a resolution in 1960 against election year Supreme Court appointments
1. Yes.
2. The longest they've delayed was about 4 months. But there is no limit to how long they can delay, and they can stall until next president is sworn in.
2. Yes. The Supreme Court generally deals with constitutional questions. They take on cases to determine whether a law is/isn't constitutional.
Another honest and propably silly question: why was the topic created in this forum, airliners.net forum and probably some other forum too (in General Discussion)? Would an average citizen whether he/she is NBA fan, aviation fan etc notice/feel in general who exactly are the members? It seems to me (based on the heated conversation here) that even friends can be enemies, if wrong person is elected to the Supreme Court. Specially for me is strange that some persons are quite happy that Scalia is dead. For comparison, i am not fan of a Vladimir Putin, but i would not dance in joy if he would die suddenly.
Neither did your post.Just saying your post really adds nothing to the discussion, and doesn't make me feel any more sorry for his passing. Who gives a **** if he was "brilliant" if a dude is a piece of ****.

So Dala, just to confirm, you think Scalia was a piece of ****, were you also implying that he was evil? Just curious.
What makes you think he was a piece of **** btw? I'm interested in why you think that. Because of his stance on the 2nd amendment? Gay rights? Abortion?
These posts make you sound like a petulant little child. I know you're not one, and I know you're smarter than that.
You think he's a piece of **** because you don't agree with his ideologies. I don't. That's pretty much the story.
The two posts are making very different points. You're just grouping them together with a smear attempt.
Nope. Just pointing out that your post is meaningless. As displayed by the comparison to the highly intelligent Bin Laden.
