What's new

Anyone know when Alec Burks is returning to the line up?

Utah was playing amazing basketball with Burks in the line up.

Oh wait...

I have a friend who said they saw him in the VIP dinner room before a game and that he said that he would be back if they made the playoffs. That seems like a very long time. I trust the source but I know it sounds kind of like Best Buy. Also does not preclude him coming back earlier than that but I did not take it as encouraging.

I read this as "If I come back, we make the playoffs." There. That's better.

Do you think Burks is better than ingles or cj?
Do you think the jazz lack scoring off the bench?
Do you think the jazz could use a player who can get to the line?

If you answer yes to any of these questions then having Burks > not having Burks

Not enough to make a difference. I'm kind of losing interest in the season.

Considering Alec is a better 3PT shooter than Hood, Hayward, Ingles or Johnson AND can get to the rim, yes, I guess we don't really need him. After all, it's pretty apparent Lindsey's goal is to NOT make the playoffs,

i'm sure looking forward to Burks being back so we don't have to play our sucky PGs

WOW...I'm gaining allies. Now my pessimism is infecting others. Welcome to the Dark Side.
Don't be utter ignoramus idiots!!! He puts Neto and ingles on the bench. He adds a ton to the team. Shut the hell up join a fakers message boards of your not fans of our players!! Burks is great for our team!! Live with it losers!!

Burks would add a ton... anyone who says otherwise is dumb. Ingles has been awful. I love CJ when he makes one of those critical hustle plays but he's a big liability on offense.

I need Burks back now.... NOOOWWWWWW!

We can still be fans of the team, yet be critical of DL or QS or particular players. I DO think Alec would contribute a lot. But I have lost a lot of interest this season. It was a little low to begin with, given DL's penny-pinching refusal to add any decent bench players. And I have LITTLE faith that will change this off-season, DL has had TWO years with tons of cap space to add a significant bench player or two. He's delivered Booker and Withey, Johnson and Millsap. Forgive me if I don't salute and say "Heil Dennis." Lindsey has had a couple of draft successes. But overall, I rate him as a poor GM. GM's need to utilize the draft, trades and free agency to build contenders. DL has utilized just one (the draft). And next year, he CAN'T really spend cash on a big 4 yr deal, not with the projected core all coming off their rookie deals in 3 years. The time to strike was 1-2 years ago. KOC and DL were big talkers, preaching financial flexibility so they could strike in free agency, But it was all just hot air.

Look at the Knicks. For years they spent money, and wheeled and dealt. Where did it get them?? Enter Phil, and they are now doing it through the draft. The Jazz are being very smart. They are building through the draft. And saving money to keep their main core. It's a long grueling process. But it allows them to continue to build depth while being able to retain their studs. While eventually adding small pieces and looking for bargains in free agency. Do u think DL just sits in his office twiddling his thumbs looking for new ways to troll u?? He's a hell of a lot more knowledgable then u will ever be at this. So quit you're asinine whining as if u know more then those in the front office!!!

I told all of u in the off season to slow your rolls and expectations. Building a championship team isn't done in two or three years. It's a long arduous process that can take 5-10 years of patience and careful planning. This is something the Knicks have not been willing to do. And it's bitten them in the *** on more then a few occasions. I agree 100% with everything done other then trading for Burk. I wanted CJ. other then Burke the Jazz have been incredible with there draft choices as of late, and think they will continue to do so finding some hidden gems with their picks.

I understand the fans need to spend big in free agency, but at this point... What is the point?? We are several years from contending. We are one of the youngest teams in the league, and at this point to be contending for a playoff spot is a great sign for this team. Let's also not forget that the Jazz just added some nice depth with Mack, only giving up a second round pick. If Exum becomes a star like I think he will, Mack or Neto will be one of the better backups in the league. In the mean time the youth of this team is building chemistry experience. Going forward. The scary thing is that all of Favors Hood Hayward Exum Burks Gobert have yet to hit their primes and still some room to get better. We are building a team to last and be very good. They aren't about to pull the cake out of the oven early because u want them to be foolish with money causing the Jazz to start over in a few years like the Knicks seem to do every other damned year.

Let's also not forget that while you think they haven't spent money, they actually have in some of the best young players at their positions, and the Favors dean may be the best team friendly deal in all of the NBA.

I remember when jazzfanz was filled with knowledgable fans, now seems to be filled with nothing but immature impatient thumb suckers that wants everything now on a silver platter almost as if they think money and wealth grow on trees.
