Is Gordon Hayward overrated?

Loose handles, can't shoot or defend when game is on the line. This is a max player? Jazz should be entertaining offers for him this summer.

He was our offense. Without him on the court our team was fairly inept offensively unless Hood was having a great shooting game. Statistically he shot pretty well with the game on the line, I believe he was one of the best in the league, not sure what else you want from him. He is a borderline all-star player. Had we stayed healthy this season and got the 5th seed he probably makes the all-star game. I dont think people realize that we were only a few games away from crushing most the realistic expectations this season and being a 5 seed despite being the 2nd youngest team, having no bench, having a disastrous injury season, being on the wrong end by a lot of bad calls in the final 2 minute report, and coming out on the bad end of so many close games that by all statistics are pure luck in those situations that come down to 1 or 2 shots. This season was rough but we played like most expected in spite of all that was listed and the largest contributor to our success this season was Hayward. He played damn tough this year and almost put this team on his back and carried them to the playoffs.

We learned he is not good enough to take one of the youngest teams with no bench to the playoffs, Russell Westbrook was in the same boat last season. He couldnt carry that team to the playoffs either. Gordon either needs a star next to him or a healthy team with 4 solid starters and a decent bench behind him. The first one might happen with Exum or someone else in the future but the second we can do something about and pretty much will without doing anything except sign a couple solid vets for the bench.

He's EXTREMELY overrated and needs to be traded immediately. Unless the Jazz sign Durant. Then he'd be okay...

Hayward is a very good player, but I think his reputation as a clutch player is extremely overrated.

I always thought he had a bad reputation in the clutch, even though stats say otherwise, so I'm not sure where that comes from.

Honestly he is a very talented player, but he doesn't have that "you cut me, i'll cut you deeper" attitude most elite NBA players have. Is he overrated, no. Is he elite? Hell no

Let's be honest. They are all overrated.

Favors, Hayward, Burks, Gobert...

We love them, but they arent what we need them to be. Not yet at least. :(

Hayward is a great support player (second option etc definitely not a first) that much is clear. As its harder to sign FAs developing our own talent via draft we may overrate them all compared to the rest of the league.
