What's new

Rodney Hood, Dave Joerger, and The Memphis Grizzlies

Scouts are part of the darft process, duh. Analytics are just stats; every GM does it, and there's no way to prove that Lindsey is better at it than most. Forgive me for not fawning over the D League stuff. Quin looks like a good coach, but I have my hesitations... if that's okay. And LOL at the "keeping our guys" comment.

Also, please note that I've merely suspended praise. Perhaps I'll re-join you fellas on my knees at some point. Or somewhere thereabouts. We cool?

Lol, you really are incapable of normal discussion without veiled jabs and insults.

I find it highly amusing.

sometimes it's just a Valley Girl voice, dude. I thought you, b-line, and I were close enough I could break it out without ruffling teh feathers.

(wait... you're about to say that it didn't ruffle your feathers. But it did. Otherwise you wouldn't have even seen "veiled jabs and insults.")

My sincerest apologies to you both. And to your families. And your future children and grandchildren. Pets included, obvi.

you just knew that NAOS would respond to Stoked in a patronizing way.

It's interesting to go back and read the scouting reports on Hood coming out of college - they all say the same thing: not big enough to play the 3 in the NBA, not strong enough to play the 3 in the NBA.

I guess it never occurred to anyone that he can play the 2.

There hasn't been a need for big spending in free agency with the young rebuilding team, otherwise u have a Corbin situation with vets stealing all of the development mins from the young guys. If that were the case half the board would still have it in for Lyles. It is however getting to that point to bring in a vet or two. I just don't know how much room there is in the roster to bring in free agents barring any trades happening.

I think DL is doing it right. I'm not sure there has ever been a good rebuild where the rebuild was sped up by spending a ton of money. We've had one of the weaker benches the last few years, but next year it looks to be a strength with Lyles Mack and Burks in the second unit, plus one of favors and Gobert usually seem to be in at all times. And this is all from being patient letting guys develop and building through the draft with a lucky trade.

Sorry NAOS. It's all because of the cake and its glorious. Everything is going according to plan. As They say in the A-team. "I love it when a plan comes together"

Great post. Fans cried when Utah used stop gaps in route to an 8 seed a few years back and now they're crying because Lindsay is playing the long game, forcing our young talent to actually play, and not bringing in Vets that will steal their minutes away. Just so we can see 1 quick round of playoff basketball? They are getting to the point where it's time to strategically add a vet or two to take the next step but this rebuild has been done correctly thus far.

I found it funny enough to comment. You seem to need help today.

Also thank you for apologizing to my rotlab, she's moody.

It is a shame that it didn't. DL needs to step up hard this offseason. Make some hard choices about players like Burks, Ingles, Withey... on if they are really part of this teams future. On who makes us good and who can we get to replace them to make us great.

If he fails again that is a rather large indictment on him considering he fell short this season already.

...and then bye bye Hayward.

Speaking of which, the cakk bakkers have to realize that the cakk strategy has now endangered keeping him. There's a big difference between two years in the playoffs -- the second time deeper than the first -- and one time in the playoffs. YUGE.
