Would he be doing this if he wasn't up for an extension is the question.
Talk is cheap. Gobert talked a lot about coming back stronger and improving last off season and regressed.
Regressed is a strong and inaccurate word.

I agree with Cy. Just because he didn't improve as much as last year does not mean he regressed.
A lot of us were saying that if Gobert could average a double double with couple/three blocks, we would be super happy. His numbers from this year were:
9.1 ppg
11.0 rpg
2.2 bpg
1.5 apg
Last year his numbers were:
8.4 ppg
9.5 rpg
2.3 bpg
1.3 apg
He was consistent this year, and that is a big deal for a young player.
Regressed is a strong and inaccurate word.
That's pretty much a guarantee they make the qualification round though, right? So he will eventually be playing for France this year.

It's not certain. I wonder who else won't go to that tournament. They are in a tournament with Turkey, Senegal, Canada, New Zealand and the Philippines. Only 1 teams qualifies. Canada and Turkey are no pushovers.
Gobert is going to be the team leader next season. He got pissed when the Lakers beat the Jazz. Noone wants to step up and so Gobert is showing his leadership by putting his offseason workout on blast early.
