What's new

The Utah Jazz decide to out Philly the 76ers

Sooo that would be different from this then.

Also, not sure the right to swap comes along with the pick. Could be wrong on that tho.

It doesn't. If Boston trades that pick, the team would have the right to swap Boston's position with Brooklyn's. Essentially, you'd still get Boston's or Brooklyn's pick, obviously the better and Brookly gets the lesser.

Utah trades Gordon and Favors to Boston. In return, Boston trades Utah the #3 pick in 2016, which Utah drafts Murray or Hield. Boston also sends #23 in 2016 for Thon Maker.

Boston also sends 2017 Brooklyn unprotected pick and 2017 Boston uprotected pick.
2018 Brooklyn unprotected pick.
2019 Memphis unprotected pick.

This leaves Boston like this:

Smart/Thomas
Bradley
Hayward
Crowder
Favors

Utah looks like this:

Exum/Mack
Murray/Burks
Hood
Lyles/Maker
Gobert

It also gives Utah 4 picks in 2017, including a potential #1 and a potential additional top 5 pick, two picks in 2018 including a potential #1, and 2 picks in 2019 with a potential high pick from Memphis.

Why? Well, right now we aren't in the playoffs anyways. We aren't going anywhere unless Exum takes us there. Exum is 19 years old, so he ain't taking us anywhere in the next 2-3 years. So, instead of wasting Favors and Hayward and getting stuck in the 7-11 range in the West, we build around Exum now. We get him talent with potential for a superstar in 2017. Imagine two top 5 picks next year (us and Brooklyn).

So, what do we do? Do we stay pat, risk losing Hayward next summer, and if Exum doesn't pan out, be a 7-10 seed in the West for the next 7 years until Gobert and Exum leave, or do we swing for the fences so when Exum hits the end of his term here in Utah and is an unrestricted free agent, he has a TON of talent around him?

Flame away.

There are times in life when your brain will think "thoughts" and you will want to open your mouth and want to tell the world about the thoughts you think. In your case it is a bad idea. First of all your mouth is open too much causing you to say a lot of things and eventually you run out of intelligent things to say. This happened to you a long time ago. Secondly, your brain doesn't process normal information or simple thoughts the way that most peoples brains do. You should start with shaped wooden blocks and try fitting them in the ball that has a matching shape cut out and after you master that, then it's time to branch out, spread your wings and take up hobby's like shoe tying or macaroni necklace making. Until then, quit polluting jazz fanz with bone-headed idiotic ideas that you have concocted after having your Gerber, snack pack and juicy juice cup. Go to sleep, your brain is lacking sleep. 7 pm cut off time from here on out. "But there's still light out side". Stop! Figuring out why there's light outside at 7 pm is more than you can handle.

Lol @ you guys. You have two options if this trade was offered:

Take the trade and have a shot at a title.

Don't take the trade and debate Burks' potential.

The simple reality is this:

Hayward and Favors ain't leading us anywhere.

If we go anywhere it's because Exum takes us there.

If Exum doesn't take us there, we are a borderline playoff team. Especially if Minnesota, Sacramento and New Orleans figure things out, because they have players with much higher ceilings than we do (Cousins, Davis, Towns).

The future isn't very bright for Utah if Exum doesn't pan out.

This trade would net you Brooklyn and Boston's pick next year, which means Utah would get to pick the better of the two picks, which could be a top 3 pick next year.

Plus, odds are Utah would be a bottom five team again, netting you two top 5 picks.

It's simple: do you want your ceiling to be Deron's Jazz or do you want it to be Malone's? Hayward and Favors give you a shot at Deron's, IF Exum can become Deron (Deron=Exum, Hayward=AK, Favors=Boozer, yet we have no Memo, so we might not be as good as that team).

The next tank is already underway. Great time to be a JF after all these years of **** up upon **** up.

Exum won't become ****. Banking on that is ludicrous.

Exum won't become ****.

Besides being one of the best guard defenders at 19 year old? But I guess that is only 1/2 the game. Besides already leading his team to a pretty good record as the starting PG mostly due to his defense and smart decision making? I wish everyone could see his potential but I guess he will just have to prove you wrong. NBD.

If Hayward and Favors aren't that good, then why the hell is Boston trading us a #3 and potential top 5 pick in a loaded draft for them? They need a star player too.
