Jamal Murray: Yeah, Murray will go 3 to 7. He's got a pretty narrow range right now. He's in the mix literally with every single one of those teams with maybe the exception of the Suns. The Celtics are looking at him at three, Wolves are looking at him at 5, Pelicans like him at 6, and Denver even likes him at 7 as a nice backcourt made to Emmanuel Mudiay, and it's a little bit fluid there because he's battling guys that are in the same tier. All of them are very different at what they do, and I think it's going to come down more to team need than it is on necessarily ranking talent. I think as far as talent goes, Murray has the ability to be the best perimeter scorer in this draft. I think he's going to be a 20-point-per-game scorer in the NBA and one of the best shooters in this draft. Defensively I think the concerns are there.

The off ball pick stuff is what really intrigue me... If he can pull multiple guys away from the hoop, without the ball it could be a nightmare to guard. As long as he's willing to try hard on defense I think he'll be smart enough to not derail a defense.

I want him on our team...
 
Chad Ford also said Jamal Murray probably couldn't guard him and he thinks Dejounte Murray will have the better career.

sounds like a description of Kevin Martin to me
 
Listening to David Locke's recent podcasts, including with Chad Ford and Mike Schmitz, it seems like after the top 8 players, the general consensus is that these are the next 5 or 6 guys in some order: Jakob Poeltl, Henry Ellenson, Deyonta Davis, Wade Baldwin, Skal Labissiere and Furkan Korkmaz (though there are questions if he's really coming over this year). There is some peripheral mention of Dejounte Murray and Malachi Richardson, who supposedly has a promise from Memphis at 17 and interest from teams as high as 11.

Chad Ford thinks Toronto at 9 will take a PF/shooter, which suggests Ellenson or Davis. Skal might be risky for a team in win-now mode. Korkmaz being so young and with complications with his buy-out probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense. So lets say Ellenson/Davis goes to Toronto.

Milwaukee could take either a center to replace the Greg Monroe experiment or a PG to replace the MCW experiment. That suggests either Poeltl or Baldwin, with the potential for Dejounte Murray sneaking in. It's hard to peg which direction they'd go. It wouldn't shock me if they made a deal with the Jazz to pick up Poeltl/Baldwin/Murray at 12 and add another consideration.

Orlando needs some rim protection and shooting, but they have talent spread across the lineup. They'll take BPA whoever they think that is. It's most likely to be Davis or Skal, though there were rumors they liked Richardson as well. I don't know if Baldwin is good enough to supplant Elfrid Payton at PG, though I don't think Orly is thrilled with Payton's lack of shooting.

The Jazz would ostensibly be looking at: Davis (if he gets past Toronto and Orlando), Poeltl (if he gets past Milwaukee), Baldwin (if he gets past Milwaukee), or Skal (if he gets past Orlando).

So...

9 Tor: Davis/Ellenson
10 Mil: Poeltl/Baldwin/Murray
11 Orl: Davis/Skal/Richardson
12 Utah: whoever is left between Davis/Poeltl/Baldwin/Skal with a chance of D. Murray or a slimmer chance of Richardson/Korkmaz

If the Jazz are interested in Ellenson, I would expect they bring him in to workout and prove he's a better shooter than his college percentage showed.

Of course, "impactful" is highly subjective.
