Maybe George, but I still have faith in Hayward being a solid player in this league.

is there a better player than hayward in this poll? (not for the rookie season, i mean the potential).
I dont think so

As of right now, Fields or George. As of the future, George, perhaps. Hayward may end being the BPA at that slot, but he has a long ways to go to catch up to Fields who has been fantastic.

Fields, George, or Hayward would have all been solid additions, and, based on his hustle and flashes of brilliance on offense and defense, I am happy with Hayward. However, if Utah wasn't going for a SF/SG and in light of the Deron Williams trade, I would take Eric Bledsoe. He is 6'1", super quick, and is averaging almost 7 points and 4 assists in 23.5 minutes. The Clippers got a steal from OKC and a future starting PG. Out of all the people drafted after Hayward in the 1st round, he is the only one that could have been a needed addition now and in the future and would have been a great pick-up in Round 1 in addition to Hayward. All credit to the Clippers for gambling on a guy that did not even play the position in college and was regulated behind the #1 pick, Wall.

Are you guys kidding me? Ed Davis is averaging 7/7 right now on 58% shooting. He was the obvious pick (he dropped a lot) yet the Jazz passed to fill a need. And you would pass again? It doesn't matter if Hayward fills a need when Ed Davis is clearly better.

Way too early. But on my gut, Davis will have the better career. Regardless, at the 9 you want a solid starter, you take serviceable starter, and you accept role player. I think Hayward will fit one of those while avoiding the dreaded bust tag. So we're doing good. I really like him, but I don't have all star expectations either.

How come NYK are 19th in FG% in the NBA and are only up slightly (with Amare's arrival) from 21st last year?

Obviously if we are talking just about this year of course Fields would be better, but of course and O Connor said it himself they have to think 2-3 years down the road and Hayward I think will be better by then.
