NFL 2016 Season Thread

ATL gave up 31 unanswered points. Overtime rules aside, THAT is why they lost.

We were discussing the overtime rules. They suck. Regardless of what game and who the opponents are and what the situation was the rest of the game. A coin toss should play zero part in determining a winner.

Hell if they want to keep it the way it is in regards to the first team scoring a touchdown wins the game without the other team offense touching the ball then fine. Just get rid of the coin toss and figure out a competitive way to determine who gets the ball first. Have each team pick their fastest guy and have them race from one end of the field to the other to determine who gets the ball first.
Have each teams kickers do a long distance kicking competition. Whoever kicks the longest field goal gets the ball first.
Have each team choose their strongest player and have them arm wrestle or bench press or something.
Have the coaches do a trivia challenge game against each other.
have each qb have some sort of accuracy or distance passing competition.

IDK, anything other than a coin toss that is 100% luck.

Plus some of those things i mentioned would be pretty entertaining to watch.

Ehh, honestly one of the worst choke jobs I have ever seen combined with shoddy reffing that looked like they tried to call a hold on every key possession to cover New England. Just hilarious.

Funny how you're the only imbecile commenting on the reffing.

It was just crazy how the Falcons could never sustain a drive in the 2nd half. They just threw away too many possessions being overly cautious then made some huge mistakes. They were clearly 2nd guessing themselves as play-callers. I wonder how much teh NFL paid them for throw this game?

After that coin toss I knew Patriots would win. Atlanta's defense had basically been on the field the entire 4th quarter. Just sad how Atlanta had to choke.

Yeah, it's really overly cautious to run the ball just five times after going up 28-3.

New England had at least 4 first downs from penalties and maybe close to 100 yards given to them through penalties. A lot on questionable calls that really appeared for the sole purpose of extending drives. Atlanta's WR's didnt get the same calls.

65 yards is close to 100 now I guess.

And the NFL really needs to fix OT. The game might as well have ended after the Patriots got the fix in on the coin toss.

Mostly I just cant wait until the truth comes out about what the Patriots did to cheat their way to win after halftime.
