The thing that has hurt us more than anything(and why we shouldn't resign AK, even for a dollar)

This would apply to AK. Why do you think he needed a Visa that one time?

I remember an AK quote when a reporter asked him who he would pay money to see play in an NBA basketball game. He said he wouldn't pay any money to see anyone play...AFTER ALL THE NBA GAMES AND INTERNATIONAL GAMES, I HAVE SEEN TOO MUCH BASKETBALL. The guy simply doesn't have a passion for the game. I think he got burned out on playing for Russia every summer. Deron said he was the first one to leave practice and was too busy reading comic books than practice.

do u think its normal for the team leader to give out such info to media about teammates?
it was the reason for corruption of boozer -deron era. They blamed AK to leave the practise as a reason to be beaten to Spurs. And he needed some work to do about his visa to stay in US. But the guys were so stupid not to figure it out but blamed other people. This isnt how things work in a team

If we bring him back there is the unspoken requirement that he gets 25 mins/night. We get to have him come in, throw up a couple jumpers, play some lack-luster D (though get praised for his defensive importance to our team because of a nostalgic view of his first couple years), shows little enthusiasm, and what little he brings will far overshadow everything he negates. Yes, Andrei has talent. Yes, Andrei has athletic ability and can, at times, have a great effect on a game, but on the whole it's addition by subtraction. I feel the same way about him that I feel about Boozer. If you don't have a winning mentality and you're looked at as a quasi-leader on a team, then you're a cancer. Our team needs toughness. I'm not going to start wearing a bra because it's a decent color and I can get it at a sweet price.
I think I just fell in love.

If we're just looking fora cheap body to fill out the roster, which seems to be everyone's justification for keeping Kirilenko, then I would personally rather bring back Price.

This. All the way up Madeleine Albright's ***.

Adding to your mountain of neg rep. You're welcome.

why everyone is against kirilenko ? i think he is a really good player. He may be injury prone, but not worse than boozer. And we can use this as an excuse to let him stay with a more favorable contract. He deserves getting 7-8 p/yr.
Im sure he will be more dedicated to the team with Deron and Sloan gone so that noone can overshadow his talents.

Boozer when healthy, is among the top 5 big men in the game.

AK when healthy, couldn't even start over 20 year old Hayward right now.

Last night Hayward showed more offensive moves than AK has in his entire career.

I think a better question is, why shouldn't we hate AK? What does he do well? Certainly not defense and definitely not shooting!

He isn't a leader and has been called out by his own teammates for his laziness. Get him out of here. Give Millsap and Hayward his minutes. Draft another guard/forward to solidify that position.

IMO the Jazz need to rid themselves of their dead wood. Time to bring in fresh blood that isn't afraid of the Lakers. Get rid of Fess, AK, Elson, Price, and CJ.

Price isn't afraid of the Lakers or anybody. He's just not good at basketball. Price is a great 5th guard to have, and unless the Jazz are able to re-sign Weaver, there are far worse things than a vet minimum player that always busts his ***, cheers his teammates, and can give you good minutes if you're in a pinch (foul trouble, injury, nothing else is working).

AK on the other hand couldn't be a more opposite situation. If you're filling out a roster with cheap vets, they better lead in some way, be generally supportive, and understand their place on the team. None of that is AK. I would literally re-sign Collins over AK as well for these specific reasons.

Context, people.

Is this you?

Based on Freakazoid's post of the FA crop the next couple years, my wishlist would go like this going forward.

This off-season
1) Afflalo. Make an offer for four years, 28M at midnight July 1st. Perhaps that's a little high but it's not so high it's going to hurt us financially imo and the kid's a complete player.
2. Wilson Chandler
3. Reggie Williams
4. Dajuan Summers

Next off-season
1. Nicholas Batum...If we can't get Afflalo, then we need to make a legit offer for Batum. The combo of he and Hayward could be a heck of a defensive tandem and pretty damn complete overall.
2. O.J. Mayo
3. George Hill
4. Courtney Lee
5. Gerald Wallace (at his age, only at the right price)

Batum stands out the most to me. I love Afflalo but he's a 2 and I don't see Hayward with his T-Rex arms playing the 3 as well as the 2 at this level. Ditto that concern with Mayo, and a couple others. Whatever we do, we shouldn't panic and sign somebody as window dressing. OKC could have very easily done that the last few years and hasn't. They're being very wise with their money and rightfully so.

Check out the balls on KrazeeEyezKilla.

That's what I'm talking 'bout.

I love AK, but I can totally appreciate an argument based on what we should do otherwise. We are not getting AA, but at least somebody is putting some thought into plan B. Props to KEK.

Repped. (after 24 hours) (sorry)
